August beauty faves 2021 image
Items marked * indicate gifted products

In my August 2021 beauty faves, these are all new makeup and skincare products, with two different toners and one birthday gift.

I often feel guilty about the size of my makeup collection. It’s why I’m taking part in a project pan this year and frequently have no-buy months. However, I received one makeup item for my birthday this month (which I’ve been loving) and purchased two products recently with birthday money. After all, beauty is my passion, so I like to spend money on products that I enjoy.

Today, I’m sharing 5 beauty products that I’ve been loving this August. Keep reading if you’d like to hear my thoughts on each item.

1. Chanel Les Beiges Highlighting Fluid in Pearly Glow

Chanel Les Beiges Highlighting Fluid in Pearly Glow image

The Chanel Les Beiges Highlighting Fluid in Pearly Glow is honestly one of the best highlighters I’ve ever used.

This sheer highlighter has a soft, luminous and lit-from-within finish. It’s incredibly lightweight and although pigmented, it’s not like a typical powder highlighter that can just look like a strip of shimmer on your skin. Instead, it melts seamlessly into the skin for a dewy and healthy look.

When I apply this liquid highlighter over the high points of my face, it never disturbs my base makeup products.

The shade Pearly Glow is a gorgeous pearly ivory shade. It matches my complexion gorgeously, and as the undertones are neutral, it works well with any makeup look. Not too gold and not too silver. It’s honestly perfect.

Where to buy

Costing £40 for 30ml, you can buy Les Beiges Highlighting Fluid in Pearly Glow from Chanel, John Lewis, feelunique, House of Fraser or Selfridges.

Pricey? Yes. But the highlighter is so pigmented that you only need half a drop for your entire face. It would take ages to use up, so I think it’s a worthy investment. It’s also very high quality and luxurious, so I believe it’s worth the price tag.

I’m so impressed with this highlighter.

2. Isntree Green Tea Fresh Toner*

Isntree Green Tea Fresh Toner image

I like the Isntree Green Tea Fresh Toner. It immediately refreshes, balances and rejuvenates the skin. After a long day, or when it’s been warm outside, the toner calms and soothes my skin. It’s very satisfying to use if your skin feels warm or aggravated.

I also find that this green tea toner helps control oil production and injects some hydration into the skin.

The aroma of green tea makes for a relaxing experience. As it’s quite watery, the product applies evenly and spreads quickly. People with oily, sensitive or combination skin will most likely love this product.

Where to buy

Retailing for £10.99 for 200ml, you can buy the Isntree Green Tea Fresh Toner from Stylevana. You can use my exclusive discount code ‘INF10AWC‘ for 10% off your next Stylevana haul, so you can pick up some more Korean skincare goodies along with the fab Isntree toner.

Rating: 4 stars

I’m very happy with this K-skincare toner. It’s definitely worth purchasing.

3. Glossier Solar Paint in Flare

Glossier Solar Paint in Flare image

The Glossier Solar Paint in Flare is a subtle, buildable and luminous cream bronzer. It imparts a gorgeous sun-kissed glow on the skin.

With just one layer, you get a sheer and skin-like finish. You could easily wear the Solar Paint on bare skin and it wouldn’t look out of place. If you build up to two or three layers, you get a more bronzy glow that packs more pigment.

I’ve loved using this whipped bronzer over tinted moisturisers for a more natural vibe. It pairs beautifully with the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer.

Where to buy

Retailing for £17 for 13ml of product, you can purchase Solar Paint from Glossier. This is a mid-priced bronzer and one that I think is worth the money. It’s not a lot of product admittedly, but it takes ages to finish bronzers anyway.

Rating: 4.5 stars

Glossier Solar Paint is an easy-to-use and natural bronzer. It’s a great addition to my makeup collection.

4. Natasha Denona Glam Palette

Natasha Denona Glam Palette image

The Natasha Denona Glam Palette is one of the most gorgeous palettes I’ve ever used. This 15-pan eyeshadow palette contains a unique mixture of cool and neutral tones. Each eyeshadow is richly pigmented, buttery and easy to blend.

This palette fully exceeded all of my expectations. It has exceptional quality and is very beginner-friendly. The layout makes sense and is intuitive. The shimmers are finely pressed, which means they don’t look chunky on the eyes. Each matte eyeshadow is soft and non-powdery, so there is very little fallout from the pan.

I’ve created some great looks with this eyeshadow palette. From simple everyday looks to glamourous night-time looks, this palette can do it all. It’s very different to any of the other palettes in my collection too.

Where to buy

For £60, you can purchase the Glam Palette from Cult Beauty, Natasha Denona, feelunique or lookfantastic. I know this is expensive, but I truly don’t believe you could get this quality in a drugstore palette. It’s amazing.

Rating: 5 stars

This eyeshadow palette is exceptional. I’m obsessed with it.

5. Maysma ABP11+ Green Rooibos Gentle Resurfacing Toner*

I love a good exfoliant and the Maysma ABP11+ Green Rooibos Gentle Resurfacing Toner is both gentle and effective.

This toner contains a blend of PHAs, BHAs and AHAs for a targeted exfoliating solution. After using this toner, my skin instantly feels refreshed and invigorated, and appears brighter. With continual use, my skin tone is more even and smoother. The exfoliation is fantastic and never aggravates my skin. It also adds hydration, which is a welcome bonus.

I have to say that this is one of my favourite exfoliants.

Final thoughts on my August beauty faves

And that’s my August beauty faves wrapped up! If I could only recommend one product from this list, it would have to be the Chanel Les Beiges Highlighting Fluid. It’s such a unique and skin-friendly formula. I’ve not got a liquid highlighter like it and I know I’d repurchase it.
