Project pan 2023 progress report #2

Here’s my second progress report for my project pan 2023. You can check out my first progress report back in April 2023 here.

For those of you who don’t know what a project pan is, it’s where you aim to ‘hit pan’ on a select number of makeup products. It’s designed to help you be mindful of your makeup spending habits and use the products you own.

‘Hitting pan’ means finishing or almost finishing an eyeshadow, blusher or pressed powder. Being able to see the bottom of the case that houses the product shows that you have used the shade a lot. Although ‘hitting pan’ refers to powder products, a project pan extends to any makeup item.

At the start of the year, I selected 10 makeup products that I’m aiming to finish by the end of 2023. After a very successful project pan 2022, where I finished 9 out of 10 products, I couldn’t wait to do another project pan.

I actually chucked the MAC Strobe Cream in Pinklite. The product had been in my collection for far too long and had lost its lovely, silky texture. Instead, it was becoming a bit chunky and didn’t look great on my skin. It was time to move on.

Almost finished products

Rimmel Soft Kohl Kajal Professional Eyeliner Pencil in Sable Brown

As you can see, my Rimmel Soft Kohl Kajal Professional Eyeliner Pencil in Sable Brown is even smaller than it was in my previous progress report! This kohl liner is fantastic, but I’ve had it for ages. Plus, the Victoria Beckham Beauty Satin Kajal Liner is my new all-time fave pencil liner. I expect to finish this by my next progress check-in.

NYX Professional Makeup Soft Matte Lip Cream in Zurich

NYX Professional Makeup Soft Matte Lip Cream in Zurich is a gorgeous drugstore liquid lipstick. Mine is almost finished, as the wand hardly picks up any product now, and the formula has become quite dry. It’s been in my collection for years, so it’s time to go!

Products I’ve made a lot of progress with

RCMA No-Color Powder

I’m actually pleasantly surprised with how much progress I’ve made with the RCMA No-Color Powder in the last 3 months. Setting powders can take ages to use up, but I’m seriously making my way through this one. I’m confident I can finish it by the end of the year.

Too Faced Damn Girl! 24-Hour Mascara

I’ve made a lot of progress with the Too Faced Damn Girl! 24-Hour Mascara, because I’ve been wearing it with most makeup looks. Despite not being my fave mascara, I still don’t want it to go to waste. I think I can finish it in 2023.

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray

The iconic Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray is still hands down the best setting spray I’ve ever tried. It does a brilliant job of keeping my makeup in place all day and increasing its longevity on my oily skin. Pretty sure I’ll use this up by the end of the year.

Remaining products

Glossier Cloud Paint in Beam

Glossier Cloud Paint in Beam is still a classic. I love this peach liquid blush. However, it’s one of the oldest blushes in my collection, and I find myself reaching for other shades and formulas more often. This is super pigmented, so I’m not convinced I’ll use this up in my project pan 2023.

Charlotte Tilbury Eyes To Mesmerise in Champagne

I’ve hardly used the Charlotte Tilbury Eyes To Mesmerise in Champagne. Probably once or twice max. Unless I step it up in the next 6 months, this definitely won’t get finished. I forget how much I love this cream eyeshadow until I wear it!

Physician’s Formula Super CC Cream in Light/Medium

Physician’s Formula Super CC Cream is another product I’ve not worn much since my previous project pan update. There’s still over half of the bottle left. I love this CC cream, but I’ve been acquiring a lot of base products recently, so I’ve been wanting to try my newness! I hope to finish this in 2023.

MAC Matte Lipstick in Taupe
