The beauty secrets

Do you often shy away from cameras due to self-consciousness? Have you exhausted all kinds of skincare products to improve the health of your skin and hair? Well, you don’t need to feel hopeless anymore. The following are some natural beauty secrets adopted by professional beauty artists. These tips and remedies promise to restore your glow, revive your dull, lifeless hair and give your nails a much-needed makeover.

The first beauty secret is affirmed by Niki Metz, Director of Artistry for Jouer. She states that her mother would apply whipped egg whites on her face, especially around her eyes, when she was a little girl. She would rinse her face with lukewarm water after 20 minutes and then apply her makeup. This routine resulted in a tight, wrinkle-free skin, hence giving her a youthful glow.

The second beauty secret is also advised by Niki. To hydrate and moisturise the skin in winter, she prepares a mixture of egg yolk and one tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil. She then applies this mixture to her face for 20 minutes and washes it off with lukewarm water. This home remedy vows to replace your dry/flaky skin with a soft, smooth and glowing skin.

The third beauty secret is not exactly hush-hush. Rather, it’s something everyone tends to neglect in this fast-paced world. According to Debbie Strong, Senior Health Editor at Everyday Health, water is the best gift you can give to your skin. Before incorporating hydrating face masks into your skincare routine, you should first focus on keeping yourself hydrated. Water “…helps your skin stay moisturised and glowing, boosts your metabolism, and keeps your energy levels up.” You can also splash some water on your face a few times a day, especially in the summer, to get a refreshed appearance.

The fourth beauty tip focuses on your eyebrows. According to Terry de Gunzburg, Founder of By Terry, a nourishing balm can do wonders to your thin, sparse eyebrows. All you have to do is apply a generous amount of it to your eyebrows, every night. You will get thicker, bolder eyebrows in just two weeks.

The fifth secret is from Kai Chic, Creator of Mane and Chic. She iterates the importance of using satin or silk pillowcases while sleeping. This fabric is kind to your hair and reduces the potential of tangling, in case you toss and turn a lot during your sleep. It will also stop your hair from falling out.

The sixth and the last beauty secret is revealed by Roxanna Sarmiento, Beauty and Style Writer, and Blogger at everydaytreats.com. If you love applying dark-coloured nail polishes but are put off by resulting yellow nails, she has a clever tip for you. You should “…try scrubbing your toenails with a nail brush and whitening toothpaste”. The yellow colour will fade and leave your nails minty-fresh and white. It will just be like giving yourself a cheap yet effective manicure/pedicure at home.

Hence, these beauty secrets lead to wonderful results and will make sure that you have great hair, shiny-white nails, bold eyebrows and hydrated, wrinkle-free skin at all times. After adopting these remedies in your daily routine, you won’t ever have to feel conscious about your appearance again. However, in the end, always remember: You are beautiful, no matter what anyone says.
