Raise your hand if you’re a personal victim of fine hair that lacks volume and goes greasy super quickly *raises hand*. Although I love that my straight hair is so low maintenance – I simply wash and blow dry it – I certainly suffer in the volume and fullness department. Because my hair is so sleek, it also gets oily annoyingly quickly, no matter how much mousse I apply!

Enter luxurious vegan and cruelty-free hair care brand Vegamour. The brand’s popular GRO range is designed to strengthen strands for fuller, thicker hair.

I’ve tried so many hair products over the years that promise to give my hair volume, and most have them have been unsuccessful. The products that work tend to work for a day or so but don’t deliver any lasting effects.

Is Vegamour different? In this review, I share my honest experience of whether the Vegamour GRO range has helped make my hair thicker and fuller.

1. Vegamour GRO Revitalizing Shampoo

Product claims

The Vegamour GRO Revitalizing Shampoo promises to cleanse and restore hair while using microencapsulation technology to deliver fast-acting phyto-actives deep into the scalp’s surface to promote thicker, fuller, and longer-looking hair. Using Vegamour’s 100% vegan silk keratin, Karmatin, the shampoo is designed to smooth strands, repair damaged follicles, and strengthen hair while still making it look shiny and feel soft. The benefits of this shampoo are supposed to be long-lasting.

How to use it

Wet your hair. Lather a quarter-size amount onto your scalp and down through the strands. Massage into scalp thoroughly with fingers for 60 seconds to allow phyto-actives to absorb. Rinse out the shampoo until the water runs clear.

Review

I didn’t think I could fall in love with a shampoo. But the Vegamour GRO Revitalizing Shampoo has truly blown me away.

This shampoo has genuinely made my hair thicker and more voluminous in the long run. It helps to give my hair far more texture. It’s still very soft and smooth, but it has much more fullness and grip now. It’s something that other people have noticeably commented on, i.e. “Your hair is way thicker now”.

I’ve also noticed that since using the Vegamour GRO Revitalizing Shampoo, my hair is stronger. It falls out much less than before, which helps add to the thickness.

Plus, the shampoo smells amazing. It has a lovely sweet – almost sherbert-like – scent. The texture is lovely too. It’s soft and gloopy but not oily, making it perfect for my oily scalp. It doesn’t feel heavy and rinses away easily.

Rating: 5 stars

This is a fantastic shampoo for thicker, fuller, and stronger hair. The results have truly impressed me. Beyond giving my hair more texture and volume, the shampoo does a great job of cleansing my hair. I can’t fault it.

2. Vegamour GRO Revitalizing Conditioner

Product claims

Using microencapsulation technology to deliver powerful phyto-actives deep beneath the surface of the scalp, the Vegamour GRO Revitalizing Conditioner claims to promote visibly thicker, fuller, and stronger-looking hair while leaving it luxuriously soft and silky. It also features Karmatin, like the shampoo, to deeply nourish and restore damaged follicles while giving your hair the glossiest shine. Again, the benefits of this shampoo are supposed to be long-lasting.

How to use it

After shampooing, apply a quarter-size amount onto your scalp and down through the strands. Massage into the scalp thoroughly with fingers for 60 seconds to allow phyto-actives to absorb. Leave in for 2 minutes, and rinse out until the water runs clear.

Review

The Vegamour GRO Revitalizing Conditioner is another standout product that has genuinely taken me by surprise.

I apply conditioner to the ends of my hair only. If I apply conditioner to my scalp, that is usually an invitation to make my hair super oily and weighed down. It’s not a vibe. So when I saw the instructions for the Vegamour GRO Revitalizing Conditioner to apply the product to my scalp and strands, I was a little apprehensive.

I didn’t need to worry! This conditioner is super lightweight and doesn’t weigh my hair down, yet it still makes my hair silky, soft, and hydrated, even when I applied it to my scalp.

The conditioner has done wonders for my hair, making it thicker, fuller, stronger, and more voluminous. The combination of the shampoo and conditioner is a game-changer. I’m so surprised at how much difference the 2 products have made to my hair.

Rating: 5 stars

I never need to worry about fine, flat, and oily hair again. The Vegamour GRO Revitalizing Conditioner is genuinely incredible.

3. Vegamour GRO Scalp Detoxifying Serum

$42/£35 for 60ml

Product claims

The Vegamour GRO Scalp Detoxifying Serum claims to be a fully comprehensive approach to scalp health that incorporates the use of proprietary phyto-actives and vegan proteins and minerals designed to work in tandem for optimal scalp and hair wellness. The serum is supposed to gently remove persistent scalp build-up and soothe scalp damage. It also promises to lock in moisture and protect the scalp from harmful environmental pollutants.

How to use it

Part dry hair into even sections. Actively massage the product into the scalp for 1-2 minutes. Leave on for 5-10 minutes and rinse. Follow with shampoo and conditioner. Use once a week for best results.

Review

Every now and again, your scalp deserves a good detox. It’s important to remove product build-up for a healthy, clean scalp and to prevent excess sebum production. The Vegamour GRO Scalp Detoxifying Serum is a good way to to give your scalp and hair an instant refresh.

After using this serum, my scalp felt fresher and less oily. Although I didn’t notice a big difference in hydration levels, it felt very gentle on my scalp.

Rating: 4 stars

The Vegamour GRO Scalp Detoxifying Serum didn’t blow me away, but it’s a great way to remove unwanted product build-up and let your scalp breathe.

4. Vegamour Pure Marula Oil

$58/£48 for 30ml

Vegamour Pure Marula Oil image

Product claims

The Vegamour Pure Marula Oil promises to be a go-to product for hair and skin. It claims to be a luxurious oil, which is naturally packed with antioxidants, omega fatty acids, and oleic acid that deliver a wealth of beauty benefits.

For your hair, the marula oil is supposed to tame flyaway hairs or give dry, frizzy locks a little love and nice glossy finish! For skin, this oil claims to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, soothe the skin, reduce the appearance of scars, and impart a healthy-looking glow.

How to use it

Apply a few drops to clean face, body, or hair. Apply drops into palm; apply with fingertips.

Review

As this is a typical nourishing oil, I’ve not been using the Vegamour Pure Marula Oil on my hair. I just know it’ll make it greasy, as my hair and scalp are not dry in the slightest.

However, I’ve been using this marula oil on my face, and it’s lovely. This nourishing and hydrating oil doesn’t feel sticky, heavy, or greasy. It absorbs super quickly and gives my skin a subtle, natural glow.

I apply the marula oil at night as the last step in my skincare routine to truly prevent moisture loss. By morning, my skin feels more moisturised and feels soft and smooth. Some oils make my skin break out if I apply too much, but I’ve not experienced any acne since using the Vegamour Pure Marula Oil.

This face oil hasn’t reduced the appearance of fine lines or wrinkles, but you’d want to be looking at incorporating retinol to target those concerns.

Rating: 4 stars

This is a good product that’s effective for my oily skin.

Overall Vegamour review

Vegamour GRO hair care image

Vegamour has truly impressed me. It’s the first hair care brand that has made my hair thicker, fuller, less greasy, and more voluminous in the long-term.

Since using the shampoo and conditioner, my hair is visibly thicker and has more texture. My hair also goes longer in between washes, as it doesn’t get as greasy. Yet, despite my hair having more volume and grip, the shampoo and conditioner still make my hair clean, refreshed, soft, and hydrated.

The shampoo and conditioner have been game-changing for my hair. Yes, they’re pricey, but they’re so worth it. Particularly if you have fine, flat, and greasy hair like me, these products will truly transform your hair. Obsessed.

The scalp serum and face oil are good, but they didn’t blow me away. I enjoy using the scalp serum as a way to give my hair a reset and remove product build-up. The marula oil is a good little facial oil that hydrates and conditions my skin. However, I’ve used more affordable face oils that work just as well, so I wouldn’t say this product is a must-try.

Fave product?
