About the Mixsoon Bean Essence

The Mixsoon Bean Essence is designed to gently exfoliate, smooth, hydrate, and brighten the skin. It claims to be completely non-irritating. Although all skin types can use this product, it’s best for people with oily, sensitive, or textured skin.

The essence is vegan, fragrance-free, and cruelty-free.

The star ingredient in this essence is fermented soybean extract. This ingredient has antioxidant properties and helps to condition the skin. It helps fade the look of dark spots and uneven skin tone.

The essence only has a small INCI list. The 3 other ingredients are pomegranate enzyme, which provides light exfoliation and delivers a more even skin tone, barley seed ferment filtrate, which soothes the skin, and pear juice ferment filtrate, which functions as a skin-conditioning agent.

30ml costs £16.95, and 50ml costs £26.95 from Refresh Skincare. Get 10% off with my code AWOMANSCONFIDENCE.

How to use the Mixsoon Bean Essence

This essence can be used in 2 different ways: to exfoliate the skin and to hydrate the skin.

As an exfoliating essence, apply this 2-3 times a week in the evening on clean, dry skin. Apply a toner first, and then apply this essence straight after. Layer other essences on top, as desired, followed by an evening moisturiser.

As a hydrating essence, apply this every day and night on clean, dry skin. Apply a toner first, followed by other essences, and then apply this essence on top. Follow with a moisturiser and SPF (in the daytime only).

For both use cases, apply around 2 pumps of the product, and gently massage the essence into your skin in circular motions until it’s fully absorbed.

Honest review of the Mixsoon Bean Essence

I’ve been using the Mixsoon Bean Essence consistently for about 6 weeks. I’ve used it as an exfoliating essence primarily and have applied the product to my skin on most days and evenings. I’ve got oily skin with mild rosacea but typically am not sensitive to skincare products.

I absolutely love this essence.

Firstly, while the packaging is nothing special, I enjoy the pump dispenser. It dispenses a small amount of product each time, so you can control how much product you put on your skin. I used 2 pumps each time.

The texture is thick, quite gloopy, and a bit tacky. If you’ve ever tried snail mucin, it’s quite similar to that consistency. However, it feels lightweight on the skin and absorbs quickly. Once it’s been massaged into the skin, there’s no sticky residue left over.

Since using this, I’ve noticed a difference in my skin. My complexion looks more even, and my skin feels smoother. I notice this particularly when applying makeup, as base products sit on my skin more smoothly. There’s less texture on my skin now too.

This essence delivers a little hydration and makes my complexion glowy. My skin looks healthy and bright, which I can largely attribute to this product.

As the exfoliating ingredient in this product is pomegranate enzyme, as opposed to an AHA or BHA, this is very gentle. I’ve used this more frequently than recommended as an exfoliating essence and have experienced zero irritation. As I apply the essence on top of the toner as well, my skin tolerates this well. It means I can get mild and consistent exfoliation, without the worry of damaging my skin barrier.

I’d highly recommend this essence to anyone with oily and sensitive skin looking for a more even and radiant complexion. I’ve had brilliant results since using this product with 0 irritation. It’s absolutely worth the money.
