Mixsoon brand review

Mixsoon is a popular Korean skincare brand that takes a minimalist approach to beauty, with many of its products centred around a single hero ingredient or a handful of active ingredients. It’s best known for its gentle, hydrating formulas and products designed to support a healthy, radiant complexion.

In this honest Mixsoon review, I share my thoughts on the 10 products I’ve tried to help you decide whether this K-beauty brand is worth adding to your skincare routine.

Below, I’m going to share my honest thoughts on each product before moving on to an overall brand review.

Mixsoon products review

1. Mixsoon Bean Essence

The Mixsoon Bean Essence is my favourite product from the brand. You can read my full, in-depth review of this hero product here, but I’ll also share my thoughts below.

This iconic essence has a unique thick, slightly gloopy texture (similar to snail mucin), but it feels lightweight on the skin and absorbs quickly without leaving behind any stickiness. It helps to gently smooth and refine my complexion while keeping my skin hydrated and glowing.

Despite containing exfoliating ingredients that help improve the look of texture, this is a really gentle formula that works beautifully with my sensitive skin. After using it consistently, my skin looks healthier, more even, and has that signature K-beauty glow that I love.

This essence is a must-have for me and one of the products I’d recommend trying first if you’re new to Mixsoon.

2. Mixsoon Centella Cleansing Foam

The Mixsoon Centella Cleansing Foam is a lovely, gentle cleanser that doesn’t strip the skin or leave it feeling tight and dry. Enriched with centella asiatica and salicylic acid, this cleanser exfoliates and soothes skin without feeling irritating. I really like how this cleanser lathers up into a creamy foam, and it leaves my skin clean, hydrated, and fresh. A little bit of product goes a long way, so this one lasts for ages.

This is a basic but excellent cleanser.

3. Mixsoon Bean Cleansing Oil

The Mixsoon Bean Cleansing Oil is fantastic for easily removing SPF, makeup, dirt, and grease from your skin. It doesn’t leave behind a greasy residue and rinses off effortlessly. The result? Nourished, clean, and smooth skin. I love how this cleansing oil seamlessly slots into my skincare routine without feeling too rich for my oily t-zone.

Rating: 4.5 stars

Again, it’s a basic cleansing oil, but it does its job perfectly.

4. Mixsoon Soondy Centella Asiatica Essence

The Mixsoon Soondy Centella Asiatica Essence is a calming watery essence. It instantly feels hydrating and refreshing on my skin. If my rosacea flares up, this lightweight essence helps reduce redness and irritation within a few hours. While I think this is a decent essence, I’ve tried other K-beauty products that contain centella asiatica that I prefer. It’s not transformative.

Rating: 4 stars

This isn’t a holy grail product for me.

5. Mixsoon Bifida Ferment Essence

The Mixsoon Bifida Ferment Essence is designed to support the skin barrier and improve hydration. Personally, I didn’t notice much of a difference while using it. My skin didn’t feel more hydrated, soothed, or protected than usual.

Rating: 3 stars

I’d skip this essence personally, although I suspect this would be a much better fit for people with dry or dehydrated skin.

6. Mixsoon Galactomyces Ferment Essence

The Mixsoon Galactomyces Ferment Essence claims to revitalise dull skin, improve elasticity, and reduce the appearance of fine lines. Just like the Bifida Ferment Essence, I really don’t notice any improvements in my skin after using it.

Rating: 3 stars

I think this essence would be a better solution for people with mature skin.

7. Mixsoon Centella Sun Cream

The Mixsoon Centella Sun Cream SPF50+ is an excellent everyday chemical sunscreen. It blends effortlessly into my skin, leaves no white cast, and is completely undetectable once applied. It’s one of those SPFs that you quickly forget you’re wearing, as it feels so lightweight and comfortable throughout the day.

This sunscreen layers beautifully over my skincare routine without pilling and sits just as nicely underneath makeup. It keeps my skin hydrated without becoming greasy, making it a great option for everyday wear.

This is a fantastic sunscreen if you want reliable broad-spectrum SPF50+ protection in a lightweight, invisible formula that feels effortless to wear.

8. Mixsoon Glacier Water Hyaluronic Acid Serum

The Mixsoon Glacier Water Hyaluronic Acid Serum is brilliant for deeply hydrating skin. It has the texture of a slightly gloopy yet runny essence. When I apply this serum to damp skin, it instantly makes my complexion look plump and dewy. Some hyaluronic acid serums leave my skin feeling a bit tight and stripped. This Korean skincare formula, on the other hand, is gentle and moisturising.

I’m a big fan of this serum. It also plays well with other skincare products and underneath makeup for a glowing base.

9. Mixsoon Soybean Milk Pad 

The Mixsoon Soybean Milk Pad is easily one of the best toner pads I’ve tried. The pads are drenched in liquid that deeply nourishes and soothes the skin, while strengthening the skin’s barrier. You can gently wipe the pads across your skin or leave them on your cheeks, forehead, and chin for 10 minutes before massaging the remaining essence into your skin. After using this toner, my skin looks dewy, feels incredibly soft, and overall appears healthy.

I’m obsessed with how these toner pads make my skin look and feel. They’re ideal for when my skin needs some extra TLC!

10. Mixsoon Centella Asiatica Toner

The Mixsoon Centella Asiatica Toner is a runny formula that instantly quenches and calms the skin. It absorbs quickly into the skin, isn’t sticky, and leaves my skin hydrated. As much as I enjoy this formula, I prefer other K-beauty toners, as they just give my skin more nourishment, refreshment, and glow. However, it’s gentle, fuss-free, and works well with other skincare products as it’s very lightweight.

This is a decent soothing toner but nothing exceptional.

Is Mixsoon worth it? The verdict

I think Mixsoon is a brilliant starting point for people looking to branch out into Korean skincare. The brand has simple, gentle, and fuss-free formulas that focus on one or a handful of hero ingredients to improve the look and feel of skin. Mixsoon excels in soothing and hydrating formulas that never strip the skin, absorb quickly, and layer beautifully.

One downside is that several of the essences feel quite similar. Unless you’re targeting a specific skin concern, you certainly don’t need to own multiple versions. To that end, if you’re looking for targeted actives, corrective treatments, or more advanced skincare solutions, I think there are better brands out there. But for basic, uncomplicated (in a positive way!), and tolerable formulas, Mixsoon is fantastic.

I particularly love the Soybean Milk Pad, Bean Essence, and Centella Sun Cream. Together, they protect my skin, leave it soothed and nourished all day, and give it a wonderful glow.

I’d recommend Mixsoon to anyone with sensitive, dehydrated, or easily irritated skin, or those who prefer uncomplicated skincare routines. If you enjoy layering lightweight hydrating products, it’s a brand that’s easy to fall in love with.
