How to do this easy makeup look

Below, I’m sharing the products you’ll need to achieve this makeup look along with a step-by-step tutorial.

• Translucent setting powder

Steps

Here’s how I achieved this simple summer makeup look step by step:

1. Apply the Perricone MD No Makeup Instant Blur Priming Moisturizer all over your face.
2. Conceal any areas that need evening out, such as over blemishes, under the eyes, or over redness (optional).
3. Use a lightweight skin tint or tinted moisturiser and blend thoroughly into the skin using your fingertips, a beauty blender, or a brush.
4. Spritz setting spray all over your face.
5. Once the setting spray has dried, lightly apply translucent powder in areas that typically get oily, like the cheeks, forehead, nose, and chin.
6. Take a few drops of the Perricone MD No Makeup Bronzer and rub them between your fingertips. Then pat the product across your cheeks and a little on the nose to warm the complexion.
7. Swipe the Perricone MD No Makeup Blush Balm a couple of times just below the cheekbones. Use fingertips to pat the blush into your skin.
8. Place 2 dots of the Perricone MD No Makeup Highlighter on your cheekbones. Pat the product in with your fingertips.
9. Curl eyelashes and apply eyeshadow primer (optional).
10. Apply brow product of choice for a fluffy effect.
11. Take a light brown matte eyeshadow and sweep all over the eyelids.
12. Use a darker brown matte eyeshadow and create a soft wing. Smudge it out to diffuse the edges for a softer effect.
13. Coat upper lashes only with the Pericone MD No Makeup Mascara.
14. Apply Perricone MD No Makeup Lip Oil all over lips. I used the shade ‘Plum’.

The verdict

I’d previously tried and reviewed some products from the Perricone MD No Makeup line. They overall really impressed me, and I loved their natural-looking finish. The primer, blush balm, and lip oil were all new products for this makeup look.

I really like how my makeup turned out! The look only took around 20 minutes to do and was straightforward. It felt lightweight, looked fresh, and lasted all day without becoming oily – even on my t-zone.

You could also play around with different eyeshadow shades, such as pastels, cool tones, or vibrant tones, and lip oil colours from Perricone MD’s range for some variety and fun.

The Perricone MD No Makeup products are brilliant and made this look so effortless to do.

I love the Instant Blur Priming Moisturizer. It fills in pores and gives a soft matte blurry effect, so when you apply any base products on top, your skin looks smooth, even, and soft. When I applied a skin tint on top, it blended seamlessly with no pilling or dry patches. The primer also kept my makeup in place all day.

The Bronzer takes a fair bit of patting into the skin to avoid any patchiness. Even then, it can still go a bit patchy, so it takes a bit of layering to look smooth. However, it’s very natural and lightweight, so it’s great for day-to-day wear.

I love the new Blush Balm and prefer it to Perricone MD’s liquid blush formula. It’s easier to apply and blend. I love the soft raspberry shade and think it would flatter a lot of skin tones. It provides subtle radiance without any shimmer.

The Highlighter is incredibly natural and provides a lit-from-within glow without any glitter particles. It melts into the skin quickly with a few taps. It’s not the most long-wearing highlighter, but it’s ideal for a natural summer makeup look, as it’s completely weightless once applied.

I’m obsessed with the Mascara and reach for it frequently. It happens to be one of my all-time faves. There’s no clumping, flaking, or dryness. It coats lashes quickly and separates them, so there’s no dreaded spider lashes. The mascara adds a lot of length and curl, which lasts all day without dropping. It doesn’t smudge or transfer. It looks natural but makes a definite difference to my lashes.

The new Lip Oil is a major hit. I’ve got all 6 shades, and each one is delightful. The tint it delivers is light but still noticeable. Unlike many lip oils, these ones actually feel hydrating. The formula is quite thick but not sticky at all, so it coats lips in a lovely nourishing gloss. It delivers wearable shine. Each lip oil also smells unreal with a sweet vanilla scent. They’re perfect for shiny, plump, moisturised, and smooth lips.

Today, I’m going to be showing you how to create an easy 90s-inspired grungy eye makeup look using Eyeko products. This look is all about a cool-toned dark smoky eye that’s fun and rebellious, matte yet fresh skin, and simple and soft cheeks and eyes.

How to do this easy 90s makeup look

Below, I’m sharing the products you’ll need to achieve this makeup look along with a step-by-step tutorial.

Steps

I actually followed this Lisa Eldridge 90s makeup tutorial below and added a few extra steps.

Here’s how I achieved this effortless makeup look step by step:

1. Prime the skin using a creamy moisturiser.
2. Apply a matte foundation or skin tint that has light, buildable coverage with a skin-like finish.
3. Lightly powder the t-zone with a translucent powder if you get oily there.
4. Apply a dirty blush shade to cheeks and lips. It doesn’t have to be applied neatly (“lived in” makeup was all the range in the 90s according to Lisa Eldridge) and should look natural.
5. Use a balm/gloss, and apply this on the cheekbones for a wet and almost oily effect. Even good old Vaseline works for this!
6. 90s eyebrows are notoriously thin. While I didn’t commit to blocking out my brows or plucking them thinly (don’t overpluck your brows as they may never grow back!), I applied the Eyeko Micro Brow Precision Pencil lightly in the sparse areas of my brows. But I didn’t make them look full or fluffy for a much more natural brow.
7. Apply a black pencil eyeliner to the upper and lower water lines, the upper lash line, and the lower lash line. Smudge this out using your fingertips or a smudger brush for a smoky and worn effect. The idea is that the makeup looks like you’ve slept in it for a few nights for a messy result. Keep smudging for a smoky effect.
8. Apply the shades Stone (matte light grey with purple undertones) and Brave (matte deep cool brown) from the Eyeko Limitless Eyeshadow Palette in Concrete Pink all over the lids. Don’t worry too much about it looking neat and perfectly blended for a grungy effect.
9. Apply a transparent balm/gloss all over the lids and work it into the eyeshadow and eyeliner for a wet effect. This helps blends any uneven/patchy application too.
10. Finish with the Eyeko Lash Alert Mascara on the upper and lower lashes.

The verdict

I love how this 90s grungy makeup look turned out! As you don’t need to worry about the makeup looking neat, precise, or even particularly “pretty”, you can afford to be quite messy. That’s all part of the rebellious makeup from the mid-90s!

This makeup look only took me around half an hour to complete. Without following Lisa Eldridge’s makeup tutorial, I could easily do this in 20 minutes.

The Eyeko products are fab too!

The brow pencil is quite firm. But that means you can get precise application without the worry of the pencil smudging everywhere. The formula didn’t feel scratchy or irritating to apply.

I love the mascara. It added great length and curl to my lashes without clumping. It’s not overly dramatic or volumising, which makes it a great everyday mascara. There was very slight transfer, but I think that was down to using the mascara for the first time. I normally find that mascaras are quite wet when you first use them, but after a few uses, the formula normally becomes a bit drier and budge resistant.

The eyeshadow palette is dreamy. I love the colour story. You can go for very simple daytime looks or bold evening looks, as it’s very versatile. I’ve not tried any of the shimmers yet, but the mattes were easy to blend and pigmented. There was some fallout in the pan but nothing crazy. They wore very well too, even with a gloss on top!

With Christmas just around the corner, I thought I’d share an easy and classic red lip makeup look for the festive season.

This makeup look is straightforward to recreate. Simply follow my step-by-step tutorial below to get this look. I’ve shared all of the products I used for this look below if you’re looking for some specific inspo.

How to do this easy Christmas makeup look

What you’ll need – The essentials

• A classic ‘pillar box red’ lipstick
• Liquid highlighter
• Bronzer
• Red-toned blush
• Gold shimmery eyeshadow
• Black liquid eyeliner

Steps

1. Use a hydrating primer and mix it with a liquid highlighter for a dewy base.
2. Apply a soft matte or satin foundation all over your face.
3. Use a concealer that’s lighter than your skin tone under the eyes for a brightening effect.
4. Spritz a glowy setting spray to lock the complexion products in place.
5. Sweep a cream bronzer over the cheekbones and at the sides of your forehead.
6. Blend a red-toned blush above the bronzer.
7. Set the base with a translucent setting powder, focusing on the t-zone.
8. Use a powder bronzer and sweep this on top of the cream bronzer to set it.
9. Dust a gold-toned powder highlighter across your brow bone and at the top of your cheeks, where they’d naturally catch the light.
10. Apply an eyeshadow primer all over the lids. Curl the lashes.
11. Lightly fill in the brows using a brow pencil.
12. Using your finger, blend a gold shimmery shadow all over the lids.
13. Blend a deeper brown matte eyeshadow on the outer corners and above the crease to add depth. Make sure the edges are blended for a soft look.
14. Line your lashes with a black liquid eyeliner, focusing on the outer third of your eyelids and flicking outwards for a thin wing.
15. Use an eyelash primer and then apply a lengthening mascara on top.
16. Line lips with a red liner and then fill it in with a matching red lipstick. Opt for a’pillar box red’, which is normally a neutral/cool-toned bright red shade that’s universally flattering. Try to find a matte formula that’s creamy and not flat.

If you’ve seen the viral TikTok cherry cola lips trend and are desperate to recreate the look, this blog post tells you exactly how.

The lip trend is inspired by cherry cola. It consists of a deep reddish brown lip that’s meant to look like the colour of cherry cola. Lips are supposed to look juicy, glossy, and vibrant. This lip is easy to recreate and works all year round. You only need 2 products!

The lip combo

All you need is a deep red or brown lip liner and glossy lip colour. If you go for a redder lip liner, try going for a more brown-toned lip colour. And if your lip liner is brown, try going for a lip shade that’s got more red in it. That way, you’ve got the perfect blend of red and brown.

Getting a shiny lip colour is essential. This makes your lips look fresh, plump, and juicy. And the cherry cola lips trend is all about vivid glossy colour.

Here’s my perfect cherry cola lips combo:

How to do cherry cola lips

This only requires 2 simple steps.

1. Start by lining your lips with the lip liner. You want to draw a fairly thick line and go in with a heavier hand than usual for a rich colour payoff. The lip liner needs to be visible. And having a visible liner colour will help give a gradient effect, which makes the gloss really pop.
2. Then go in with your glossy lip shade. Pack it on for a juicy wet shine.

Today, I’m sharing a seamless no-makeup makeup look that genuinely took about 5 minutes to do. It consists of very few skincare and makeup products!

I’m normally a full glam kinda girl. While I’ve been enjoying a more simple clean girl makeup aesthetic recently, I typically love a shimmer eye, lots of highlighter, and winged liner! So, this no-makeup makeup look is quite different from my usual looks, but I actually really like the outcome.

The star of this makeup look is actually a skincare product: the Seacra Red Algae Recovery & Repair Gel. This multipurpose hydrating gel really helped create a smooth, even, and nourished base for the makeup products to glide over. For these minimal makeup looks, skin prep is absolutely vital. So I will share the skincare products I used to create this no-makeup makeup look in this post as well as the makeup products.

How to recreate this no-makeup makeup look

Below are the products and steps you need to create your own version of this foolproof no-makeup makeup look!

• Refreshing toner (optional)
• Silky eye cream (optional)
• Hydrating serum or gel
• Nourishing moisturiser – I think creamy textures work best for this look
• SPF always
• Hydrating primer
• Tinted moisturiser or sheer skin tint
• Skin-like concealer with buildable coverage
• Beauty blender
• Setting spray (optional)
• Setting powder (optional)
• Natural creamy blush
• Lip tint
• Eyelash curlers (optional)
• Brow comb (optional)

Skin steps

The first thing you need to do is prep your skin correctly. Focus on hydrating, soothing, and moisture-retaining products that you know your skin loves. Trust me, if you want your skin to look its best with minimal makeup, your skin prep is absolutely vital for the best outcomes

I’m a big toner lover, so I started by using a hydrating and calming toner along with a hydrating eye cream. You don’t need to do these steps, but they’ll just add to the overall hydrated base!

Next, take your hydrating serum or gel. Think of ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerin, aloe vera, etc. These will ensure that your makeup doesn’t cling to any dry or dehydrated patches on your skin. Instead, you’ll have a beautiful even canvas! The Seacra Red Algae Recovery & Repair Gel is ideal for this step because it’s soothing, hydrating, and gives your skin a lovely healthy glow.

Finally, top up with your fave nourishing moisturiser and SPF. Try not to go for anything too mattifying, as you want this look to appear fresh and skin-like. Mattifying moisturisers could make the whole look quite flat.

Makeup steps

Prime your skin with a lightweight and hydrating primer to maximise that healthy base. Then, take your fave skin tint or tinted moisturiser and apply it to your skin until you’ve got the desired coverage. You’re aiming for light coverage, but you want it to look like your skin on its best day ever.

For any blemishes, spots, or redness, go in with a flexible concealer to lightly even your base. You still want your natural skin to peek through, so don’t go overboard with this step!

You then will want to go over your entire base lightly with a beauty blender. This will take away any excess product and ensure a perfect blend for that skin-like finish. This step is super important for a no-makeup makeup look so that you’re not product-heavy.

If you’ve got oily skin like me, you’ve got the option here to use a setting spray and setting powder to really keep that base in place. My t-zone can become quite oily throughout the day, so keeping the greasiness at bay is key for me to achieve this effortless makeup vibe. For drier skins, feel free to skip these products!

To add some colour back to your skin, opt for a lightweight, buildable, and natural blush. Cream and liquid formulae work best here, as they just melt into the skin to add a flush of healthy colour. Powder blushes are gorgeous but not as skin-like. With this step, go in lightly and build up as required in the areas where you naturally have flushed cheeks.

Next, use your fave lip tint and wipe away any excess product to add some extra sheen and colour to your lips while still being very subtle.

To complete this look, optional steps include combing your brows into your desired shape (no products used at all), and curling your lashes. Mascara would be too heavy for this look, but added curl can add natural length and volume to your lashes!

The original makeup look comes from the incredibly talented Painted by Spencer. It features a pop of colour, beautiful glowing skin, and a pretty pink lip to tie everything together. I saw this makeup look and fell in love. So I simply had to recreate it!

Here’s Painted by Spencer’s YouTube video I followed to achieve this beautiful summery makeup look:

Like, how gorgeous is this look? From the luminous skin, glossy lips, and expertly placed pop of yellow eyeshadow, I was immediately obsessed.

Painted by Spencer makes it very easy for you to follow his tutorials too. He explains his processes and techniques really well – including when things don’t go so well and I love this transparency – and you can easily see the products he uses to achieve the desired look.

My makeup recreation

For the makeup, I literally followed the tutorial precisely. Sure, many of the products I used were different, as I used products in my collection, but I followed the steps as perfectly as I could.

However, I did my skin prep a little differently. I didn’t do the whole cleansing technique that Spencer did. Honestly, that’s why my skin isn’t quite as glowy as Spencer’s version. That, and the fact that studio lighting really emphasises glow. If I recreated this makeup look again, I’d definitely try Spencer’s cleansing step!

I ultimately did my standard hydrating and glowy skin prep, and you can see which products I used to achieve this later on in the article.

I absolutely love how the makeup turned out. I think the pink and yellow complement each other so well, and I love the understated radiant and natural base.

One of the things I really enjoyed doing in this makeup look was only applying mascara to the outer corners of my eyelashes for that accentuated cat-eye vibe.

If I did this makeup again, I think I’d apply even more of the shimmery yellow shadow to the inner corner for an extra pop.

Honestly, this makeup tutorial was so easy to follow. It took me about 30 minutes to do this look due to there not being loads of intricate steps and an overload of makeup products. It’s playful with colours without being OTT.

The clean girl makeup look is all about minimal makeup, subtle radiance, slicked-back hair, simple jewellery, and hydrated skin. Anyone can do it too! Although many of the TikTok creators have perfect skin, I’ve seen plenty of different skin types and ages do the trend, and it looks great on everyone. Nobody should feel excluded from the trend, even though TikTok might have you feeling otherwise.

This vibe is for when you want a simple look that doesn’t require a tonne of products. You can honestly do this look in about 15-20 minutes.

What you’ll need

You’re going to need the following products to create this look:

• Hydrating skincare
• Dewy foundation⁣
• Contour
• Brown eyeshadow
• Lip gloss
• Brow gel
• Cream or liquid blush
• Concealer
• Mascara
• Glowy setting spray
• Primer
• Small hoops or studs
• A can of hairspray

The small hoops or studs and hairspray are optional, but they totally complete the look.

How to do the clean girl makeup look

Make sure you’ve prepped your skin with hydrating products. Think hyaluronic acid, squalane and moisturisers. This will ensure a smooth and plump base.

Next, use a primer to help your makeup stay put and add to the healthy skin vibe.

Then, apply a dewy foundation. Lighter coverage works best for this look, but feel free to amp up the coverage if you want to. Try adding a drop of liquid highlighter to your foundation for additional glow.

Conceal under your eyes if necessary, or spot conceal areas that require a little more coverage. Don’t overdo this. The goal is barely-there makeup.

Lightly contour the areas of your face that you want to look a bit more sculpted. Again, nothing too heavy, but just some light shading. Be sure to apply contour in the crease of your eyelids for some subtle definition too.

Next, apply a cream or liquid blush. Ones that are radiant will really compliment this look. The clean girl makeup look is quite blush-heavy for that healthy flush of colour, so feel free to layer your blush.

Use a brow gel to fluff up your brows. You’re aiming for full but natural-looking brows.

Then, use some brown eyeshadow to create a soft wing. This will help to lift your eyes. Then, coat your lashes in mascara. You have the option here to add a dot of highlighter in your inner corners to really make your eyes pop.

Apply lip gloss to complete your makeup. You can lightly apply a lip liner if you want as well. Then, lock everything in place with a glowy setting spray.

Finally, wear some small hoops or studs and slick back your hair with hairspray to complete your clean girl aesthetic.

I’m really pleased with both looks. It’s giving effortless glam, and I’m here for it! I did both looks in about 20 minutes. Now I’ve got the hang of the aesthetic, I could probably reduce this to 10-15 minutes.

You’re probably already very familiar with glass skin makeup. But for those that aren’t, the focus is on plump, glowy, and illuminated skin. It’s very much a ‘lit from within’ vibe. If you love dewy skin, this makeup trend is 100% going to be your thing.

Fenty Beauty glass skin tutorial

Here’s the YouTube video I followed to achieve a glass skin look:

I’m honestly obsessed with the finished look. It’s glowy without being too shimmery or emphasising skin texture. Admittedly, it helps when you already have amazing skin like the model. However, the use of facial oils and focusing on your skincare first will ensure your makeup is smooth, glossy and doesn’t cling to any dry patches.

Skincare first

Before I delve into what makeup products I used to recreate this Fenty Beauty look, you need to focus on your skincare before anything else.

Here are my top tips:

1. Use a hydrating serum to ensure your skin is plump and hydrated, which stops makeup from clinging to any dehydrated patches
2. Add a facial oil to keep your skin nourished (if you tolerate facial oils), which encourages smoother makeup application
3. Stay moisturised with your favourite moisturiser, as this will encourage that final glossy effect
4. Wear SPF to keep your skin protected at all times

As they say: skincare first, makeup second. This is a good rule for applying makeup but particularly for glass skin makeup as it’s very skin-focused.

My recreation of the glass skin tutorial

Where Priscilla Ono, Fenty Beauty’s global makeup artist (who is fantastic btw), uses the Fenty Beauty Match Stix Shimmer Skinsticks underneath foundation to get the glow going, I took the OG Iconic London Illuminator in Original and applied this to the high points of my face. This means cheekbones, the bridge of my nose, chin, centre of the forehead, and up towards my temples.

Next, I took the same foundation Priscilla used in the tutorial – the Fenty Beauty PRO FILT’R Soft Matte Longwear Foundation in 140. Following the tutorial, I mixed this iconic foundation with a few drops of facial oil for a wet effect.

You can use any facial oil but I’d highly recommend using the Avant Skincare Advanced Bio Restorative Superfood Facial Oil. Although it’s pricey at £85, it’s one of the best facial oils I’ve ever tried. If you don’t fancy paying full price, Avant Skincare has a major 30% off sale coming on 20th August up until 5th September. This would bring the price down to around £60, making it more affordable. I did my normal concealer and bronzer routine. I won’t delve into it because I want the focus of this blog post to be about glass skin.

Priscilla then goes on to mix together some powder highlighter with the facial oil she used with the foundation earlier in the tutorial. I took the same facial oil and mixed it in with my favourite ever powder highlighter – the Anastasia Beverly Hills x Amrezy Highlighter. I then applied this mixture across my cheekbones liberally for added glossiness.

Next, I took my Fenty Beauty Freestyle Cheeks Out Cream Blush in Petal Poppin’ and applied this to the apples of my cheeks and blended upwards lightly.

Finally, I finished my look with a dewy setting spray, lip gloss and shimmery eyeshadow, along with obvious products like brow pencil and mascara, to tie everything together.

My thoughts on the glass skin makeup look

When I tell you I’m obsessed with the results of this makeup look, I mean it. This is potentially the best my skin has ever looked. I love that it looks glossy not greasy.

The glow truly is multi-dimensional. Photos don’t do this makeup look justice. When my skin catches the light, it’s so radiant, without looking shimmery or textured.

Sometimes, using lots of highlighter can lead to emphasised skin texture, but mixing products in with facial oil was a genius move. It allowed the makeup to slip around more easily and ensured it didn’t cling to any dry patches.

The only negative is that using more facial oil led to the makeup breaking down a little faster than usual. Probably by 2-3 hours. However, because my skin already looked glossy, the breaking down didn’t look out of place at all with the rest of my makeup. There’s nothing worse than having an oily nose where the makeup has broken down but the rest of your skin looks matte.

Having a glass skin look made it easy for me to take a beauty blender and blend out any greasier parts of my skin back in with the rest of the overall luminous look.

I will 1000000% recreate this look again, maybe even at the weekend…

It’s been a long time since I shared a makeup look on the blog but I wanted to talk about this effortless and lightweight #KJHacademy makeup look, which is perfect for warmer weather.

Simple eyes and a bold red lip are a classic makeup look. However, rocking a red lip in the day can sometimes be a challenge. Using a smudging technique softens the look of red lips and makes it more wearable, which is what this look incorporates. Plus, with only a few base products used in this look, it’s not going to feel heavy on the skin.

What is the #KJHacademy?

My take on the bold red lip and champagne eyeshadow makeup look

Last week’s #KJHacademy makeup look was a bold red lip, champagne eyeshadow and peachy blush. I love this sort of look, so I knew I had to participate in the challenge.

Here’s Katie Jane Hughes’ final makeup look, along with 9 other makeup enthusiasts’ take on her look:

I opted for a more warm-toned version of this makeup look. The MAC Cosmetics Matte Lipstick in Chili is one of my favourite red lipsticks of all time, so I really wanted to incorporate that into my makeup look. I used a pencil brush to smudge the lipstick for a more soft-focus finish, as per Katie’s tutorial, which I think makes this sort of statement lip a lot more wearable.

As MAC Chili is a warm-toned red lipstick, I chose a warm-toned champagne eyeshadow from the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Instant Eyeshadow Palette to complement the lip colour.

To create a peachy flushed face, I liberally applied the Glossier Cloud Paint in Beam all over my cheeks and up towards my temples along with the Essence Matt Touch Blush in Peach Me Up powder blush to set it all in place.

Honestly, I’m so pleased with how my look turned out. It’s refreshing, perfect for summer because there aren’t many products used on the skin, and it creates the ultimate daytime glam look. I forgot how much I love red lipstick and this makeup look has reminded me to whip it out more frequently.

I’m really into glowy skin makeup looks at the minute so I wanted to share this simple, everyday dewy makeup look with you all.

A couple of years ago, I’d never have even considered opting for a lightweight foundation. It was full coverage or nothing. However, as my skin is probably the best it’s ever been at the moment, I’ve been leaning towards sheerer coverage foundations. They’re enough to even out my skin tone, but don’t look heavy, which I find more flattering on my skin.

I’m also loving radiant makeup looks currently. They make you look healthy, radiant and youthful. Dewy makeup looks don’t draw attention to any uneven skin texture you might have but give the impression that you’re really into your fitness (even if you’re not) because of the incredible glow.

This makeup look was so easy to put together and is super wearable. For a day in the office (post-COVID, of course) or when you want to make a bit of an effort without going OTT, this effortless dewy makeup look is ideal.

Creating the dewy makeup look

The key to creating this dewy makeup look is a lightweight but buildable glowy foundation and a subtle ‘lit from within’ highlighter. Anything too shimmery will push your makeup look into something more dramatic, rather than healthy and understated.

I recently got my hands on the Pat McGrath Labs Sublime Perfection Foundation in Light 5 and I’m obsessed with it. This buildable foundation gives sheer coverage, but can easily be built up to medium coverage, without feeling heavy or looking cakey on the skin. It’s got a luminous satin finish that makes your skin look glowy, without looking greasy.

Honestly, this foundation is everything.

As well as using a satin, lightweight foundation, I also used a gorgeous highlighter. The Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter is a fantastic multi-tasker. You can mix it with your foundation for an all-over glow or apply it to the high points of your face for some added luminosity.

This highlighter isn’t shimmery but gives a natural glow. It’s one of my favourite highlighters because it makes my skin look hella radiant. If you don’t like blinding highlighters or want to go for a more wearable look, I can’t recommend the Hollywood Flawless Filter enough.

To complement the highlighter and satin foundation, I kept the rest of my base light. A touch of bronzer and peach-toned blusher added warmth to my face, but still looks natural. For dewy makeup looks, only powder the parts of your face that get oily – such as the nose, forehead and chin – otherwise you’ll mattify the glow.

My thoughts

I’m totally in love with this dewy makeup look. I think it’s so flattering on the skin and paired with a natural eyeshadow look, you’re onto a winner.

Although I love full glam looks, sometimes just stripping it down and opting for something more subtle is fulfilling. That way, you’re enhancing your natural beauty, rather than going for a full beat.

Side note: the By Terry Terribly Paris Vip Expert Palette Paris By Light is absolutely divine. The eyeshadows are buildable, blendable, buttery and pigmented. It’s one of my favourite neutral eyeshadow palettes ever, with a gorgeous mix of cool and warm tones.
