1. RoC Skincare Soleil-Protect Anti-Wrinkle Smoothing Fluid SPF50

£17.99 for 50ml

RoC Skincare Soleil-Protect Anti-Wrinkle Smoothing Fluid SPF50 image

Product claims

Soleil-Protect Anti-Wrinkle Smoothing Fluid SPF50 is a broad-spectrum sunscreen that promises to visibly smooth the look of wrinkles and fine lines for firm- and youthful-looking skin. It claims to be ultra-lightweight and sheer with no ashy cast or white residue. This SPF is supposed to be suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin.

Key ingredients

Besides water, the top 5 ingredients on the INCI list are:

  • Octocrylene: a highly stable UVB protector with some UVA protection too
  • C12-15 alkyl benzoate: an emollient (softens or soothes the skin)
  • Dimethicone: an emollient with a silky, non-greasy feel
  • Ethylhexyl salicylate: UVB sunscreen filter
  • Butylene glycol: a humectant (retains or preserves moisture) and texture enhancer

See the full INCI list below:

Aqua, Octocrylene, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Dimethicone, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Butylene Glycol, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Silica, Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, Glycerin, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Methylene bis-benzotriazolyl tetramethylbutylphenol (nano), Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Chrysanthemum Parthenium Flower Extract, Lecithin, Propylene Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol, Decyl Glucoside, Linseed Acid, PEG-100 Stearate, PEG-8 Laurate, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Sodium Dodecylbenzenesulfonate, Acrylates Copolymer, Xanthan Gum, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Sodium Acrylates Copolymer, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Parfum

Review

Of the 2 sunscreens I was gifted, the RoC Skincare Soleil-Protect Anti-Wrinkle Smoothing Fluid SPF50 is my favourite. This has a very moisturising and silky texture that sinks into the skin quickly and easily, without leaving the horrible sticky feeling that is often associated with sunscreens. There’s no visible white cast, and there’s not really a strong SPF smell either.

This feels like an SPF plus hydrator. After applying it, my skin feels more hydrated and appears smoother with a gorgeous subtle glow. I love that this broad-spectrum SPF50 has a slightly radiant finish, as many sunscreens are mattifying and can make your skin look quite one dimensional and flat.

I also agree that this is lightweight, and I could see many skin types agreeing with this product. There is added fragrance to this product, though, so beware if this is something you don’t get on well with. People with particularly oily skin might prefer the other RoC Skincare SPF in this review, as it has a more mattifying effect.

Rating: 5 stars

This is a fantastic SPF and definitely one of the best I’ve used.

Ideal for travelling, the capsules are biodegradable. After one week, lines and wrinkles claim to appear softened, and skin feels plump and cushioned with moisture.

The top 5 ingredients on the INCI list are:

Review

The RoC Skincare Multi Correxion Hydrate and Plump Capsules are a dream for anyone with dehydrated or dry skin. Tbh, they’re fantastic for anyone who loves a juicy moisture boost!

These capsules are incredibly moisturising and hydrating. When I use them, my skin instantly feels replenished and softer. This is my go-to hydration booster for when my skin’s not its best and is in need of some TLC. The top 5 ingredients on the INCI list are all emollients, so your skin will be super soft after using these.

These nourishing capsules are also fragrance-free.

I wish that hyaluronic acid was featured higher up the INCI list. These capsules are marketed as being hyaluronic acid-based. While the product is super hydrating, hyaluronic acid features low down the INCI list. Not a problem in terms of efficacy but just something to point out.

Rating: 5 stars

I love these hydrating capsules. They’re a fab addition to my skincare routine.

3. RoC Skincare Retinol Correxion Line Smoothing Night Serum Capsules

£16.49 for 10 capsules or £35.99 for 30 capsules

RoC Skincare Retinol Correxion Line Smoothing Night Serum Capsules image

Product claims

The Retinol Correxion Line Smoothing Night Serum Capsules are specially formulated to smooth and renew the appearance of collagen-depleted skin, according to RoC Skincare. They combine a high concentration of pure RoC® Retinol with a bio-derived antioxidant.

Boasting a lightweight, silky texture, these capsules promise to hydrate the skin and plump the look of fine lines and wrinkles. The formula also claims to accelerate the removal of old, dull skin cells, supporting more even-toned and radiant-looking skin.

Key ingredients

The top 5 ingredients on the INCI list are:

  • Cyclopentasiloxane: an emollient that gives a silky-smooth sensation
  • Ethylhexyl cocoate: an emollient
  • Dimethiconol: an emollient that helps preserve hydration
  • Glycine soja (soybean) oil: a non-fragrant emollient plant oil that’s a good source of antioxidants and replenishing fatty acids
  • Retinol: The gold standard in skincare, AKA vitamin A. Retinol is one of the most effective anti-ageing ingredients for softening the appearance of wrinkles, refining skin texture, and improving uneven skin tone

See the full INCI list below:

Cyclopentasiloxane, Ethylhexyl Cocoate, Dimethiconol, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Retinol, Dimethylmethoxy Chromanol, Ceramide NP, Phenoxyethanol.

Review

I think the RoC Skincare Retinol Correxion Line Smoothing Night Serum Capsules are a great example of blending powerful vitamin A with emollients to create a softer, less harsh yet still effective retinol product.

These single-use capsules have a silky smooth texture and feel very hydrating on application. They have a similar feeling to the Multi Correxion Hydrate and Plump Capsules but are a bit less rich.

So far, I’ve gotten on really well with these retinol capsules. I’ve not experienced any sensitivity or irritation, which can happen with retinol. Since using the capsules, my skin looks a bit more radiant and smooth. I will need to finish the entire jar to accurately judge how well they’ve worked for anti-ageing, but I’m impressed with them so far.

Rating: 4 stars

A great retinol with added moisturising benefits!

4. RoC Skincare Soleil-Protect Anti-Brown Spot Unifying Fluid SPF50

17.99 for 50ml

RoC Skincare Soleil-Protect Anti-Brown Spot Unifying Fluid SPF50 image

Product claims

The Soleil-Protect Anti-Brown Spot Unifying Fluid SPF50 promises to be ultra-lightweight and formulated to reduce the appearance of brown spots and hyperpigmentation. A broad-spectrum SPF50, the sunscreen claims to absorb quickly into the skin, resisting leaving a white or greasy residue. It claims to be suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. RoC Skincare says this sunscreen will give you an even-toned and healthy-looking complexion.

Key ingredients

Excluding water, the top 5 ingredients on the INCI list are:

  • Octocrylene: a highly stable UVB protector with some UVA protection too
  • C12-15 alkyl benzoate: an emollient
  • Dimethiconol: an emollient that helps preserve hydration
  • Ethylhexyl salicylate: UVB sunscreen filter
  • Butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane: a globally approved synthetic UVA filter

See the full INCI list below:

Aqua, Octocrylene, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Dimethicone, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Butylene Glycol, Silica, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Bis Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, Glycerin, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Methylene bis-benzotriazolyl tetramethylbutylphenol (nano), Ascorbyl Glucoside, Chrysanthemum Parthenium Flower Extract, Lecithin, Propylene Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol, Decyl Glucoside, Linseed Acid, Sodium Dodecylbenzenesulfonate, PEG-8 Laurate, Acrylates Copolymer, Cetearyl Alcohol, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Acrylates Copolymer, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol, Parfum.

Review

The RoC Skincare Soleil-Protect Anti-Brown Spot Unifying Fluid SPF50 is more matte than the other SPF in this review, but it’s still super lightweight and sheer. There’s no white cast or greasy residue, and it works into the skin quickly and easily.

This one is less rich than the other SPF too, so if you’ve got oilier skin or prefer a less nourishing skincare routine, you’ll absolutely love this sunscreen. I opt for this sunscreen if I’m going for a matte makeup look or want a less greasy base. I’d always pick this one if it’s really warm and want my skin to have a bit more breathing room.

Both of the SPFs are excellent. I slightly prefer the other one, as I love a dewier base at the moment, but they’re some of the best sunscreens I’ve ever used. Easy to apply, easy to blend, and they feel super comfortable on the skin.

Rating: 4.5 stars

Review

You know I love the Multi Correxion Hydrate and Plump Eye Cream as it featured in my April 2022 beauty faves. Often, eye creams can be gimmicky and just be overpriced moisturisers. But this one truly works.

When I use it, my eyes look plumper and feel softer and smoother. This eye cream provides immediate hydration. It’s got a wonderful cooling and refreshing sensation, which is exactly what I’ve needed recently with all the warm weather! If I’m tired and my eyes need some rejuvenation, this invigorating eye cream does exactly that.

I don’t think this eye cream helps with puffiness or dark circles, but I still love it. For all my hydration lovers, this is an absolute must-have.

Rating: 4 stars

This is an effective eye cream.

Overall RoC Skincare review

RoC Skincare image

I’m very impressed with my RoC Skincare products. They’re all effective and meet most of their claims. I can tell that RoC Skincare is very focused on hydration, which I loveeeee. All of the products contain emollient ingredients and have a gorgeous silky-smooth texture.

I genuinely like every single product. With a lot of ranges that I’ve tried in the past, there tends to be one or two products that aren’t for me, but I reach for these products. Every single time.

If you’re looking for some new holy grail skincare products, I’m certain you’ll find a staple in this RoC Skincare post.
