I had the pleasure of trying the original LED face mask from CurrentBody Skin, and it was the most effective light therapy device I’d tried. Unsurprisingly, the CurrentBody Skin LED Light Therapy Face Mask: Series 2 is brilliant.
Compared to the Series 1 Mask, I agree that it fits the face better. It feels comfortable on the skin and isn’t heavy at all. I’ve tried some LED face masks previously that are hard, uncomfortable, and heavy, which is inconvenient. Thanks to the silicone material, the Series 2 Mask is flexible, lightweight, and comfortable.
However, it doesn’t fit well around the mouth area on me well, as my upper lip ends up being higher than the designated mouth hole.
But the LED lights cover my entire face, ensuring even and consistent treatment. Plus the eye inserts you can put on the mask ensure your eyes are protected from the bright red lights without restricting your vision, unlike many LED face masks that require you to wear protective goggles.
The skincare device is portable too. The power outlet for the mask can be easily clipped to your clothes, making it convenient and easy to use.
As for the results, I’ve only been using this red light therapy mask for a few weeks, so I’ve not seen a difference in the fine lines on my skin yet. However, it’s definitely helped reduce redness and made my skin look more radiant. So far, I’m really impressed, as not many products help combat my rosacea, but this mask has already made a difference!

This skincare device gives both immediate and long-lasting results. Instant results include lifted and sculpted skin for up to 72 hours.
ZIIP HALO’s power falls into the optimal cell rejuvenating and muscle stimulating range of 900nA to 400µA – anything over 500µA becomes too intense.
Using alternating waveforms (negative and positive charges) sparks a visible skin transformation, unlocking both immediate and long-lasting results. The ZIIP HALO has up to 23 waveforms and intensities, carefully chosen to address different skin concerns.
The device comes with an accompanying conductive gel, which helps the stimulating electrical device smooth over the skin easily and helps achieve optimal results. You can also download the accompanying ZIIP App to follow clinic-grade facials to meet your own wants and needs.
How to use the microcurrent device
Using the ZIIP Halo device is straightforward! Follow the simple steps below:
- Apply 4 to 8 pumps of the Electric Complex Gel to clean, dry skin.
- Turn on your device.
- Either touch the globes to your skin to start the pre-programmed ‘THE LIFT’ treatment, or connect to the ZIIP App for more facials.
- Once your facial treatment is complete, wipe down your device and safely store.
- Rinse away any excess gel and continue with the rest of your skincare regimen.
Use the microcurrent device 3 to 5 times per week for a minimum of 6 weeks for best results.
Honest review
I’ve only been using the ZIIP Halo for around a week and can already tell I’m going to love this device!
Firstly, out of the microcurrent devices I’ve tried previously, this is the most comfortable to hold in your hand. The long oval shape fits comfortably in the palm of my hand without being too small, so it doesn’t mean an awkward grip on the device, which could lead to hand cramps. The device is also lightweight.
The accompanying conductive gel is the best I’ve tried. It’s quite thick and slippery, which means the metal globes glide effortlessly across my skin without any tugging or resistance. The texture is really satisfying, and my skin feels so hydrated and refreshed after using it.
I’ve not used the ZIIP App yet; instead, I use the pre-programmed mode. This takes 4 minutes to complete – with 2 minutes on each side of your face. The microcurrent device comes with a booklet, where an image shows you the directions to glide the device over your skin. I followed this and found it perfect for my skin.
Immediately after using the device, my skin looks radiant, feels firmer and smoother, and appears more lifted. Once the minimal redness has subsided (totally normal!), my skin has that post-facial fresh face look, but all from the comfort of my own home. I love how convenient this device is to use. I can incorporate it into my skincare routine easily.
I’m really looking forward to seeing long-term improvements in my skin with consistent use.
