I’ve always been sceptical of hair growth serums’ effectiveness. Many brands claim unrealistic and highly exaggerated results, promising to transform thinning hair into luscious, flowing, and thick locks. Some brands’ websites also have some sketchy “before and after” photos.
I’ve used several hair growth serums in the past with mixed results. Some of them made my hair feel thicker and fuller, while others just added hydration. But I’ve never tried a hair growth serum that’s made a visible difference to my hair.
I’ve been using the Mayraki Hair Growth Intense Serum for 6 weeks. My goal was to achieve fuller and thicker hair. In today’s review, I share whether the Mayraki Hair Growth Intense Serum actually works and whether it’s worth investing in.

About the Mayraki Hair Growth Intense Serum
The Mayraki Hair Growth Intense Serum is designed to maximise hair growth and minimise hair loss. It works by stimulating hair follicles, promoting hair growth, and improving overall hair health. The serum claims to visibly thicken and strengthen locks.
Mayraki says results can be seen as early as 4 weeks. Beyond stimulating hair growth, the serum claims to be easy to apply and nourish and soothe the scalp. The star ingredient in this serum is copper tripeptide-1. Expert skincare advice website and popular skincare brand Paula’s Choice explains that this ingredient has the potential to incite hair stimulation.
The serum retails for $65 USD/£49.74 GBP for 45ml. It’s cruelty-free and vegan.
How to use the hair growth serum
For the first 3 months, apply 2 drops evenly onto a dry or damp scalp twice a day, massaging it in gently. Do not rinse the serum out. After the first 3 months, apply 2 drops once a day to maintain results.
Honest Mayraki Hair Growth Intense Serum review
After using the Mayraki Hair Growth Intense Serum consistently for around 6 weeks, here’s my honest review.
Firstly, the packaging is functional. It’s not particularly fancy, but the dropper means you can easily dispense 1-2 drops on application. The serum itself doesn’t feel oily and is fairly runny, so it dispenses evenly across the scalp. I find massaging the product into my scalp quick and seamless. You can’t feel it once applied, which is perfect for my oily scalp.
One downside for me is the recommended amount of times to use this product per day. I always apply the serum to my hair when it’s dry. However, if I’ve freshly washed my hair, the last thing I want to do is apply a hair serum. While this serum doesn’t make my scalp look or feel greasy or weighed down, it still alters the appearance of my hair by making it damper. For this reason, I never apply the serum to my hair on the day that it’s been freshly washed. Other than those days, I applied it mostly twice a day for 6 weeks.
The serum has a clean and slightly sweet scent, which disappears once it’s been applied.
As for the results, this serum has made my hair feel slightly thicker. I’ve got a lot of hair, but the strands themselves are fine. When I run my fingers through my hair now, the strands feel a bit thicker. I’ve got sleek and straight hair naturally, and I think the serum has given my hair more texture, which makes it feel more voluminous.
There are no hydrating or soothing benefits from using the hair serum, in my experience. My strands don’t appear to be any stronger either.
Disappointingly, this hair growth serum hasn’t made a visible difference to my hair. My hair doesn’t look any fuller or thicker than before, and it’s not growing any faster than usual. Admittedly, I don’t have a particular problem with thinning hair or hair loss, so maybe this serum would make a noticeable difference to someone looking to target those areas.
Rating: 3.5 stars
Overall, I think this serum has made my hair feel a bit thicker, which is good for my oily scalp and fine strands. However, I’ve not noticed a visible difference in my hair; it’s not growing any faster, it doesn’t look thicker, and there’s no difference in the strength or condition of my hair.
If you want your hair to feel a bit thicker or have more texture, the Mayraki Hair Growth Intense Serum could be worth trying. However, if you want your hair to look visibly different or encourage faster hair growth, I don’t think this is the serum for you.
I don’t think I’d personally need this serum, but it’s good to have it on my radar in case I want to slow down hair loss!
