MIMU MIMU is a new cutting-edge Korean skincare brand that needs to be on your radar

Korean skincare brands are home to some of the best products. They’re widely regarded as being more innovative, effective, and affordable compared to their Western counterparts. Whether you’re looking for a calming serum, glowy essence, melting cleansing balm, or lightweight SPF, K-beauty brands offer high-quality and gentle solutions.

MIMU MIMU is a brand-new K-beauty brand that launched in 2024. It claims to be cutting-edge by focusing on skin temperature and different textures for a new experience.

In this review, I share my honest thoughts on MIMU MIMU’s Heating Calming i.n.g Cleansing Oil and Cooling Calming i.n.g Toner. Find out whether these products are truly innovative, effective, and worth it below.

1. MIMU MIMU Heating Calming i.n.g Cleansing Oil

The MIMU MIMU Heating Calming i.n.g Cleansing Oil is designed to be suitable for all skin types, including sensitive and acne-prone skin. It offers a unique warming sensation as you massage the product into your skin, which aims to effortlessly remove makeup, blackheads, dirt, and oil while providing a home spa experience.

To use, shake the bottle well before use, apply 2-3 pumps into hands and rub to warm, gently massage the product into skin, and then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.

It’s formulated with hydrating hyaluronic acid and glycerin, soothing centella asiatica extract, hot spring water from Japan, the antioxidant melia azadirachta leaf extract, and more. The cleansing oil is fragrance-free.

I love this cleansing oil.

Initially, I was sceptical about the warming claims. But after using 2-3 pumps and rubbing it between my palms, the oil immediately feels warm. It reminds me of a spa day, as the sensation is relaxing and luxurious.

The oil has quite a thin texture, so it spreads easily across my face without any harsh rubbing. It lifts makeup, grease, dirt, and any lingering skincare effortlessly, while turning into a light milky consistency. The oil rinses away quickly, without leaving any greasy residue.

MIMU MIMU says you can use this cleansing oil as your first and second cleanse. However, I always follow this up with a second gel-based cleanser to ensure my skin is completely clean and free from any product.

After using this cleansing oil, my skin feels fresh, clean, soft, and hydrated. There’s no tightness, and my skin doesn’t feel stripped. It’s gentle, effective, and soothing. I can’t fault it.

2. MIMU MIMU Cooling Calming i.n.g Toner

The MIMU MIMU Cooling Calming i.n.g Toner claims to be suitable for all skin types, including sensitive and acne-prone skin. This innovative toner aims to cool and calm down the skin to keep it at the perfect temperature, while soothing, balancing, and hydrating skin.

To use, shake the bottle to dispense a few drops into your palms, and then immediately and gently press the product into your skin.

It features hydrating glycerin, calming centella asiatica extract, soothing allantoin, barrier-strengthening panthenol, and more. The toner is fragrance-free.

I also love this toner.

It has a refreshing watery texture that’s lightweight and instantly absorbent. Because it’s so weightless, other skincare products layer beautifully on top without pilling.

The cooling sensation is lovely. It’s soothing and revitalising. This sensation is particularly lovely when the weather is warm, as it helps to cool my skin down. It’s also ideal for when my rosacea flares up, providing instant relief.

The toner immediately calms and moisturises my skin. It’s great to work with and conveniently slots into my skincare routine. Again, I’ve got 0 complaints!

I’m thoroughly impressed with MIMU MIMU. The products feel fresh, unique, and exciting. I love that the brand has played around with cooling and warming temperatures for a multi-dimensional skincare approach.

And, most importantly, the products are effective and meet their claims, with high-quality INCI lists. The cleanser and toner have become staples in my skincare routine. I can’t recommend this K-beauty brand enough!
