Pat McGrath Labs is one of the most iconic makeup brands in the world. It is home to many holy grail products and innovative formulae that are loved by the makeup community across the globe. These include bestsellers like the Dark Star Mascara, Mothership VII: Divine Rose, and SatinAllure Lipstick. But these high-end products come with a hefty price tag!

To help you decide whether to purchase any Pat McGrath Labs makeup products, I’m sharing my unbiased opinions on 9 different products before moving on to tell you whether this lavish brand is worth your money. I’ve been lucky enough to try a diverse range of Pat McGrath Labs items, so I can offer a fair brand review.

What is Pat McGrath Labs?

Pat McGrath Labs is a high-end makeup brand founded by legendary makeup artist Pat McGrath Labs. She is widely recognised as one of the most influential makeup artists in the world, with her makeup collection being just as iconic and creative as her.

The brand has some of my favourite formulae, including the Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Foundation and Rose Decadence Eyeshadow Palette.

1. Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Primer

£27 for 30ml

The Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Primer is exactly what I look for in a primer.

This silky-smooth primer feels more like a hydrating serum than it does a primer. Once applied to my skin, it instantly feels hydrated and looks more radiant. While it provides a soft-focus finish and smooths skin, it never feels slippery. Instead, it perfectly balances grip and slip, so that my skin is ready for makeup application.

I love that this primer helps my base products stay put for longer too. If you struggle with textured skin, I’d definitely recommend this primer as it feels weightless but makes a big difference to your skin.

I love that the Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Primer makes my skin look and feel great while providing a smooth canvas for makeup to sit on top of. It’s become my fave primer!

2. Pat McGrath Labs MTHRSHP: Rose Decadence

Pat McGrath Labs is probably best known for the most incredible, pigmented, and vibrant eyeshadow palettes. And the MTHRSHP: Rose Decadence eyeshadow palette certainly doesn’t disappoint.

I love this luxe eyeshadow palette. From the beautiful rose and gold colour story, high-end packaging, buttery-soft mattes, high-impact shimmers, effortless bendability, and weightless formula, these shadows seriously pack a punch.

These eyeshadow are honestly so easy to use. You can blend, build, and manipulate the colours however you want them to look. Despite being a professional makeup artist brand, this eyeshadow palette is very beginner friendly. The shades are super creamy, and there’s hardly any fallout.

My absolute fave colour in this palette is the vivid gold. It’s out of this world in terms of vibrance, richness, and luminosity.

3. Pat McGrath Labs MatteTrance Lipstick

£36 for 4g

The Pat McGrath Labs MatteTrance Lipstick is an absolutely divine texture. It’s one of the nicest matte lipstick I’ve tried.

This lipstick is creamy, lightweight, smoothing, pigmented, and very long-wearing. The formula doesn’t sink into any fine lines or dry parts of your lips, which can be quite common in matte lipsticks. It’s super flattering. The shade I own – Beautiful Creature – has been discontinued, but there is a tonne of gorgeous shades to choose from.

I can’t fault the Pat McGrath Labs MatteTrance Lipstick at all.

4. Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish: Divine Blush

£30 for 9.7g

The Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish: Divine Blush is hands down the best powder blush I’ve ever tried.

I’m a cream blush stan. I love their melting textures, beautiful dewiness, and soft-focus finishes. In my experience, cream blushers are more natural and buildable than powder blushes and give your skin the most gorgeous radiance.

But the Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish: Divine Blush rivals all of my cream blushes.

I’ve got the shade Nymphette, which is this stunning soft pink with golden pearl. Unlike so many other shimmer powder blushes that give horrible and unnatural chunky shimmer vibes (which also emphasise skin texture in all the wrong places), the shimmer is so finely milled that it gives you this soft, even, and lit-from-within glow.

Rather than making my skin texture look worse, the formula glides over my skin for romantic radiance. The pink is also out of this world – it’s soft and natural.

Plus, the blush itself is soft and weightless. It’s easy to build and blend into the skin, so you can go for a natural sheen or vibrant pop of colour.

5. Pat McGrath Labs Perma Precision Liquid Eyeliner

£27 for 1.2ml

The Pat McGrath Labs Perma Precision Liquid Eyeliner is actually a bit of a miss for me.

Let’s start with the positives. This liquid liner is super dark and dramatic. You don’t have to keep layering the liner, as it’s very opaque. If you’re after a dramatic wing, this liner will provide it! I like the tip of this liner because it’s fairly thin. But I’ve used thinner tips that I like more.

However, looking at the negatives, there are quite a few. My main gripe is the price. I’ve tried much cheaper liquid liners that perform better than this one. It’s nothing game-changing.

Also, this formula is very wet. This makes it very easy to make mistakes, which I’m not a fan of. Beginners would likely find this liquid liner easy to smudge.

I don’t believe this liquid liner is waterproof or smudge-proof either. Admittedly, my eyes are quite sensitive and water easily. However, if my eyes happen to water while wearing this liquid liner, it will pretty much remove all traces of it. The liner doesn’t smudge in a messy way, thankfully, but nonetheless, it’s not smudge- or budge-proof.

Rating: 3.5 stars

There are other liquid liners out there that work better than this one and are more affordable. I don’t hate it, but I wouldn’t buy it again.

6. Pat McGrath Labs LUST: Gloss

£27 for 4.5ml

Pat McGrath Labs LUST: Gloss is another banger.

This high-quality gloss is non-sticky, super shiny, juicy, smoothing, and hydrating. With soft shimmer particles, this gloss captures the light in the most stunning way, without it being glittery. This formula just glides over lips effortlessly for a full and glossy pout.

My favourite thing about this gloss is the shade. I’ve got Divine Rose, which is a one-of-a-kind plum rose shimmer. It imparts enough pigment that my lips have a pretty rose stain without being so pigmented that it’s just a block of colour.

The Pat McGrath Labs LUST: Gloss looks gorgeous on its own but also works so well on top of lip colours for an extra pop of colour and multidimensional shine.

7. Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Foundation

£61 for 35ml

Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Foundation is in my top 3 foundations of all time.

Although this is the most expensive foundation I own, I think it’s totally worth it. You just won’t find the same type of quality foundation in the drugstore.

Firstly, the shade range is fab. There are 36 shades overall with an equal number of shades for each complexion range. This means that there aren’t 32 shades for light-medium skin tones and just 4 dark skin tones. It’s equal, and it’s diverse. Light 5 is a great match for my complexion too.

What I love most about this foundation is the beautiful satin finish. It melts into the skin effortlessly with a weightless texture. It’s my skin but better. It’s not flat and adds a skin-like sheen. I’d say this is bang in the middle between a matte and glowy foundation.

This is also a very customisable foundation. With 1 pump you get sheer coverage, but you can easily build up to medium coverage with 2-3 pumps. Even when you layer this foundation, it never looks cakey, and the blending is still seamless.

I love mixing the Sublime Perfection Foundation with a liquid highlighter for a glowy base.

8. Pat McGrath Labs EYEDOLS Eye Shadow

£12 for 1.1g

Although I’m a huge eyeshadow palette lover, there’s something charming about eyeshadow singles.

I like the Pat McGrath Labs EYEDOLS Eye Shadow for this reason. I’ve got the shade Celestial, which is a gleaming champagne. This eyeshadow is so wearable and works with just about any look. You can swipe it all over the lid for ted daytime monochromatic moment, in the inner corners for concentrated shine, or in combination with other shadows for a more complex eye look.

The shade is shimmery, without being glittery, and buttery smooth. It’s easy to blend and build too.

But for some reason, I just don’t think this shimmery single shadow compares to the impact of the shimmers in the Rose Decadence eyeshadow palette. The shimmers in that eyeshadow palette are just out of this world.

I’m not sure why but the EYEDOLS Eye Shadow just doesn’t have the same wow factor as the palette’s shimmer shadows. Maybe other shades in Pat McGrath Labs’ single shadow lines offer more of that pigmentation and luminosity. Nonetheless, I still enjoy using my champagne shimmer shadow.

A nice wearable champagne eyeshadow that’s easy to use.

9. Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish: Highlighter + Balm Duo

£47 for 6.5g

The Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish: Highlighter + Balm Duo is unlike any other highlighter in my makeup collection.

On 1 side, there’s a clear balm highlighter. This adds a ‘wet look’ shimmer-free shine to the skin for a glossy editorial vibe. The balm highlighter looks especially amazing when paired with a glossy lid and lip.

On the other side, there’s a nude pearlescent highlighter. I’ve got the shade Nude, and the highlighter side contains the finest shimmer particles for buildable luminosity.

Both sides are comfortable, hydrating, and seamless to blend. The balm side is just a little sticky but is still a lot less sticky than other balm highlighters I’ve tried. And both sides look gorgeous on the skin.

Makeup look using Pat McGrath labs products

No makeup brand review would be complete without a makeup look!

In this Pat McGrath Labs makeup look, I used every product mentioned in this post besides the matte lipstick and single eyeshadow. Here’s how it turned out:

I’m really happy with how this look turned out. I actually followed Pat McGrath’s ‘minimal’ makeup tutorial for this palette to create this eye look. I particularly think the eyeshadow and highlighter stand out.

Overall Pat McGrath Labs brand review

If it’s not already abundantly clear, I love Pat McGrath Labs.

I rated most of the products in this post 5 stars, with only 1 product (the liquid liner) being a bit of a disappointment. But I truly like every single product I’ve tried. Many Pat McGrath Labs have become staple products in my makeup routine.

This high-end brand gives me everything I want and more. Stunning artistic packaging, unique colours, divine textures, multi-dimensional but non-chunky shine, seamless blendability and building, long-wearing formulae, vivid pigmentation, and innovative products.

You just won’t find this sort of luxury at the drugstore. Yes, these makeup products are an investment, but they’re also for the true creatives out there who want to create impactful looks with minimal effort and tonnes of fun.

My absolute fave products from Pat McGrath Labs are the Rose Decadence Eyeshadow Palette, Sublime Perfection Foundation, Divine Blush, and Highlighter + Balm Duo.

It’s not hard to see why the brand is so popular. The makeup products are diverse, easy to use and affordable. Plus, Fenty Beauty frequently has sales, so you can pick up a steal easily.

Over the years, I’ve tried a lot of products from Rihanna’s makeup line. While nearly all of them have been good, some have been exceptional. So, if you’re looking to buy some new goodies from this popular brand, below are the 10 holy grail Fenty Beauty products that you need to try. Trust me, you won’t go wrong with these.

1. Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation

£27

The Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation is the product that started it all. Offering an impressive 50 shades, this foundation highlighted just how un-diverse the beauty industry was upon launch. Finally, a foundation range that had shades to cater to all skin tones. Ever since then, makeup brands have been forced to make their lines more inclusive and those that don’t will quickly realise customers will look elsewhere.

This matte foundation offers medium-full coverage for a poreless and smooth finish. It works particularly well for oily skins, as the foundation offers long-lasting coverage without making your skin look greasy after a few hours. However, people with dry skin might want to avoid this foundation as it could potentially cling to dry patches. But for oilier skin types, this is a holy grail Fenty Beauty product!

2. Gloss Bomb

Still to this day, the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb is the best lip gloss I’ve ever tried. This non-sticky gloss makes your lips look plump, slightly shimmery and imparts just enough colour for a ‘your lips but better’ vibe. It feels comfortable and hydrating on the lips and has surprising lasting power for a gloss. It will last for a good 3-4 hours before needing a top-up.

The shade range is lovely too. Fenty Glow – a rose nude – is my favourite but Fu$$y, Hot Chocolit and Diamond Milk are all worth checking out. This is a Fenty Beauty staple and deserves its iconic status.

3. Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Blush

If buildable blush that imparts a healthy-looking flush of colour is your thing, you’ll love the Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Blush. In a range of flattering colours – from soft petal pink and cool berry to fiery orange and deep purple – these blushes give you a dewy and youthful complexion.

And don’t worry, these blushes are incredibly easy to use. Even the stronger shades are impossible to overdo as they sheer out easily. No matter how much colour you apply, it won’t disturb the makeup underneath for a truly fuss-free finish. It works well with a brush and your fingertips, whatever your preference is.

4. Stunna Lip Paint

The Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint has one of the most budge-proof lipstick formulas that I’ve ever tried. It will stay pigmented after 12 hours of wear. It’s insane. Although it’s matte and long-wearing, the Stunna Lip Paint feels comfortable on the lips and won’t crumble or sink into fine lines. Stunna Lip Paints are for bold lipstick lovers. I’ve got the shade Uncuffed, which is a gorgeous rosy mauve nude. But you can choose from shocking pink, ruby red, violet or even black to turn heads.

5. Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil

The Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil is one for my shimmer lovers. This highlighter makes you look expensive. There isn’t necessarily much of a base colour but it gives you a diamond-dusted glittery veil.

My favourite way to use this highlighter is across your cheekbones and then sweep it up to your temples and on your brow bone so that when your skin catches the light, you look glowy. This is 100% an evening highlighter as it’s not subtle at all. It’s high-impact and will make your skin look wet in the most beautiful way.

6. Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick

As you’ll see, lip products feature frequently in this holy grail blog post because I think Fenty Beauty’s lip products are spectacular. The Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick is no exception.

This matte lipstick is, again, long-wearing but feels soft and creamy on the lips. Mattemoiselle is super pigmented as well. There are some staple nude shades to choose from, such as S1ngle and Thicc, as well as some interesting and unique shades like Ya Dig?! – an electric blue – and Midnight Wasabi – a forest green.

7. Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Bronzer

Alongside Fenty’s cream blushes, the Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Bronzer is another holy grail product. This bronzer is so soft and gives you a beautiful, natural and sun-kissed glow. It doesn’t lean too orange or too ashy, giving you the perfect amount of warmth. It’s such a dream to apply to the skin as it feels smooth and even when you build the colour up, it doesn’t disturb any of your base makeup.

This is the only bronzer I’ve tried that I think would work well on bare skin or on top of a tinted moisturiser. Other bronzers, particularly powder ones, work best with a fuller-coverage base. However, the Fenty Beauty Cream Bronzer is more versatile and could be worn with light-coverage products or by itself.

8. Flyliner

If you love winged liner, and you’re pretty good at doing it, you’ll adore the Fenty Beauty Flyliner. In 3 words, this liquid eyeliner is: pigmented, smudge-proof and easy-grip.

The long wand means you can get a good hold of the eyeliner for precise control over your wing. However, this isn’t the most beginner-friendly liquid liner because it’s got a wet formula, which means it can be a bit easier to make mistakes. But this is a perfect liner for dramatic eye makeup looks due to the strong pigmentation.

9. Match Stix Matte Skinstick

We’ve covered foundation, blush and bronzer, so now it’s time for contour. Fenty Beauty’s Match Stix Matte Skinstick are ideal for concealing, contouring and correcting. However, the deeper neutral contour shades are the best, providing effortless and blendable contour for a more sculpted look. Each stick is lightweight with a cream-to-powder finish, so adding definition to your face is simple.

10. Gloss Bomb Cream

We’ve covered the OG Gloss Bomb formula but the newer Gloss Bomb Cream version is just as nice. Unlike the original formula, the cream formula is shimmer-free but instead offers more coverage. With just one swipe of the large doe foot applicator, you easily get medium coverage and a juicy finish. Gloss Bomb Cream imparts more colour than the original formula and works brilliantly alone or as a lipstick topper.

Once again, Rihanna has killed it with another dope lip gloss formula. The shade Cookie Jar, a stunning chocolate caramel, is my favourite and looks good on all skin tones.

After more than 20 years in the industry working with plenty of celebrities, Charlotte launched her own cosmetics line – Charlotte Tilbury. The Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Pillow Talk Lipstick is one of the best-selling lipsticks in the world.

1. Pillow Talk Eyeliner

The Pillow Talk Eyeliner is genuinely so beautiful. When it was first released, I was instantly drawn to the unique berry-brown shade. I hadn’t seen an eyeliner like it and when paired with the Pillow Talk Instant Eye Palette, it creates a sultry look.

The eyeliner is soft, creamy, and applies evenly to the eyes. Drier formulae have a tendency to be patchy as they can drag across the lids, whereas this eyeliner feels comfortable to apply. It’s also very pigmented. The eyeliner is very long-lasting too, without smudging or crumbling as the day goes on.

If you like softer eyeliner looks, this one can be easily diffused for a more wearable/smoky look. You can use the Pillow Talk Eyeliner on your lids and in the waterline. I absolutely love it.

2. Full Fat Lashes in Glossy Black

The Full Fat Lashes mascara is just okay, in my opinion. It applies easily but not clumpily, while adding length and definition to my lashes. It’s just nothing ground-breaking. I’d prefer it to be darker and more volumising.

I like my mascaras to be really black, so my eyelashes stand out. My lashes need all the help they can get as they’re pretty short, bless them. But I think the Full Fat Lashes would make a cute daytime mascara. Also, if you apply more than 1-2 layers of this mascara, it will smudge. So, use it cautiously.

Overall it’s okay but no great. Maybelline’s Lash Sensational Mascara is a far cheaper and more effective drugstore makeup option.

3. Matte Revolution in Pillow Talk

The Matte Revolution in Pillow Talk is undoubtedly Charlotte Tilbury’s most popular and iconic makeup product. This warm, nude and pink-toned matte lipstick is flattering for so many skin tones and ages. It gives a feminine and understated look.

This is my favourite nude-pink lipstick of all time. I always feel great when I wear it.

Not only is the shade beautiful, the lipstick formula is also excellent. Although it’s matte, it doesn’t look flat or feel dry on the lips. Instead, the Matte Revolution formula is comfortable, long-wearing and hydrating throughout the day. It makes your lips appear and feel soft and smooth, without crumbling or sinking into fine lines.

This famous Pillow Talk lipstick deserves all the hype it gets. It’s totally worth £25 and once you try it, I’m sure you’ll fall in love with it too.

4. Eyes to Mesmerise in Champagne

Eyes to Mesmerise in Champagne is quite simply one of my favourite eyeshadow products ever. It’s creamy, shimmery, buildable and blends effortlessly. You can just use a wash of colour for an effortless daytime look or build up with more layers for a more intense evening look.

Although this cream eyeshadow has a soft texture, it’s got surprising lasting power. You might experience some creasing after a few hours but if you use a decent eyeshadow primer, Eyes to Mesmerise is still going to look pigmented after 8 hours.

The shade Champagne (see swatch below) is a gorgeous cool-toned silver/gold with pink undertones. It’s so flattering and complements just about every lip colour out there.

This cream eyeshadow truly requires minimum effort for maximum impact. I always get lots of compliments when I wear it. Eyes to Mesmerise deserves far more attention and hype.

5. Airbrush Flawless Finish in 1 Fair

Unlike Eyes to Mesmerise, the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish powder gets a lot of attention and praise. But does it truly deserve the hype?

Absolutely.

This pressed powder is very finely milled, so it never appears or feels heavy on the skin. Instead, it feels feathery soft and lightweight. It has this incredible smoothing and blurring effect, like the name suggests, to give you an airbrushed finish. Genuinely, this pressed powder is magical because it makes your skin look blurred and poreless in just one sweep.

Whether you’ve got dry or oily skin, I think you’d appreciate this powder. For drier skins, this powder is not drying whatsoever and actually feels hydrating on the skin. For oilier skins, this pressed powder still does an excellent at keeping excess oil at bay, so you can stay shine-free all day long.

The shade 1 Fair (see swatch below) is perfect for me.

I wondered if it would be too pale for my complexion but because it’s finely milled, you don’t get a blob of colour on your skin. For this reason, I think each of the 4 shades available would suit a large variety of skin tones.

6. Colour Chameleon in Amber Haze

Although I like the Colour Chameleon in Amber Haze and think it’s a good formula, it’s just not a product that grabs my attention. I actually ended up giving this eyeshadow stick to my mum because she loves the texture and shade.

For me, this shimmer is a bit too dark. It’s not a shade I’d wear. It’s better suited to people with deeper complexions or blue eyes. I also prefer powder or cream formulae to pencil eyeshadows, so I didn’t want this to sit around unused.

In terms of the product itself, the pencil is fairly soft, very pigmented, and easy to build up intensity. It’s not the easiest product to blend, though.

7. Hollywood Lips in Screen Siren

£25 (Discontinued)

I don’t think Charlotte Tilbury should’ve discontinued Hollywood Lips in Screen Siren because it’s such a good lipstick. This colour is a perfect ruby red. It’s bright, vibrant and bold.

This lipstick is so long-wearing. It refuses to budge. Even after 8 hours of wear, the ruby red shade will still be incredibly pigmented and vivid. Despite it being matte and long-wearing, the formula is velvety and smooth, which means no crumbling. I hate matte lipsticks that feel drying but this liquid formula is still nourishing.

This lipstick serves red carpet vibes and always looks glamorous. I’m gutted that Charlotte Tilbury has discontinued this product.

8. Rock ‘n’ Kohl eyeliner in Bedroom Black

The Rock ‘n’ Kohl eyeliner in Bedroom Black is the perfect dark and dramatic black pencil eyeliner. The pigmentation is intense and the formula is soft and smooth to make lining your lids or waterline effortless.

Like the Pillow Talk Eyeliner, you can use Rock ‘n’ Kohl to create a sharp wing or diffuse the colour out for a sexy smoky look. Also, this pencil liner does not budge. At all. So you don’t need to worry about it fading or smudging throughout the day.

Although I think the Rock ‘n’ Kohl in Bedroom Black is brilliant, the Maybelline Master Drama Khol Eyeliner Ultra Black is a great dupe for a fraction of the price. Costing 75% less for virtually the same formula, it makes sense to go for Maybelline’s kohl eyeliner. Whereas the Pillow Talk Eyeliner is totally unique, so you’re not going to be able to purchase an affordable dupe elsewhere.

9. Hollywood Flawless Filter in 2 Fair

Another well-loved Charlotte Tilbury makeup product is the Hollywood Flawless Filter. And I’m totally in love with this product as well.

Hollywood Flawless Filter is truly special and versatile. This glowy liquid formula can be mixed in with your moisturiser for a glowy boost, worn on its own for a luminous complexion, mixed in with your foundation for a radiant base, or worn on the high points of your face to illuminate features. Whichever way you decide to use this, you’ll look healthy and radiant.

My favourite way to wear this product is mixed in with foundation or as a highlighter. It’s not overly shimmery but rather gives you a ‘lit from within vibe’. I love this and it’s perfect for a glass skin look.

This is my favourite Charlotte Tilbury makeup product ever. It’s also a product I’ll continue to repurchase as there is nothing else quite like this miracle liquid out there.

10. Pillow Talk Instant Eye Palette

If you’ve read my review of Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk Instant Eye Palette, then you’ll already know how obsessed I am with this eyeshadow palette.

This is genuinely the most flattering eyeshadow palette I own. Every shade looks so beautiful on the eyes and I think this palette would suit everyone, irrespective of age or skin tone. The shadows are buttery, buildable and pigmented. In particular, the shimmers have this gorgeous soft quality where they don’t look chunky on the lids, meaning they reflect the light in the most gorgeous way.

Although you need to try this palette out to truly appreciate how wonderful it is, the swatches below are a pretty good indicator of its performance.

As you can see, each shade is vibrant and beautiful. Whether you like peachy mattes or bold pink shimmers, the Pillow Talk Instant Eye Palette has got your back. You can easily create effortless daytime looks and then dial them up for sultry night-time looks.

This is one of my favourite eyeshadow palettes in my collection. I always find myself reaching for it.

11. Legendary Lashes Volume 2

I prefer Legendary Lashes Volume 2 to the Full Fat Lashes mascara. This mascara is less smudge-proof and I find it easier to coat individual lashes, which is particularly useful for my bottom lashes.

Although this mascara gives your lashes lots of volume, it never looks clumpy or feels heavy. Instead, you get a natural and wide-awake look. I think this is a wonderful daytime mascara as it’s not too dramatic or heavy.

However, for a high-end mascara to win me over, it needs to have that ‘wow factor’. And Legendary Lashes Volume 2 doesn’t. I tend to always prefer drugstore mascaras because they are very affordable and deliver the same, if not better, results than luxurious mascaras. For instance, you could pick up a better Maybelline mascara for around a third of the price of a Charlotte Tilbury one. So for that reason, I think this mascara is good but I wouldn’t buy it again.

Overall thoughts on Charlotte Tilbury makeup products

Whilst I don’t love every Charlotte Tilbury makeup product I’ve tried, the ones that have won me over are truly excellent. Charlotte Tilbury creates really attractive products, from packaging and shade ranges through to the ease of use and innovative products.

If you purchase a Charlotte Tilbury product, you have to be willing to part with a fair amount of cash. £60 for a 12-pan eyeshadow palette is a lot of money. But the great products are just so well formulated and easy to work with that you can see why they’re pricey. I feel differently about the brand’s skincare products, though.

The products I’m confident you’ll love are the Airbrush Flawless Finish powder, Pillow Talk Instant Eye Palette, Eyes to Mesmerise, Hollywood Flawless Filter, Matte Revolution in Pillow Talk and Pillow Talk Eyeliner. These are all standout and unique products that deliver excellent results every time. I’d be willing to repurchase all of these without hesitation.

Charlotte Tilbury mascaras never seem to take off. I’m not sure what it is about them but they just don’t seem to deliver in the same way other brands do. But then again, when you’ve got drugstore makeup brands releasing fire mascaras, you’re not going to spend £25 on a reasonable mascara when you could spend £8 on a brilliant mascara.

Overall, I do think Charlotte Tilbury makeup products are worth the hype. The ones that get a lot of attention deserve all of the praise, in my opinion.

I used the the Pillow Talk Eyeliner, Matte Revolution in Pillow Talk, Airbrush Flawless Finish in 1 Fair, Hollywood Flawless Filter in 2 Fair, Pillow Talk Instant Eye Palette and Legendary Lashes Volume 2 to create the simple makeup look below:

I mixed the Hollywood Flawless Filter in with my foundation and over the high points of my face for a naturally glowy look. To create an all-matte eyeshadow look, I used the ‘Desk’ trio from the Pillow Talk Instant Eye Palette.

Products I’d like to try in the future

Conclusion

I believe Charlotte Tilbury makeup products are worth the hype. The formulae allow you to create effortlessly glamorous looks with minimum effort for sexy, sophisticated and feminine vibes. Some products are staples in my makeup collection and I’ll sing their praises all day. Despite this, I think you can find better and more affordable drugstore alternatives for the brand’s mascara and Rock ‘n’ Kohl eyeliner.
