How to do this easy makeup look

Below, I’m sharing the products you’ll need to achieve this makeup look along with a step-by-step tutorial.

Perricone MD No Makeup products

• Instant Blur Priming Moisturizer
• Bronzer
• Blush Balm
• Highlighter
• Mascara
• Lip Oil

Other essential products

• Lightweight tinted moisturiser or skin tint
• Translucent setting powder
• Fluffy brow product
• 2 shades of matte brown eyeshadow
• Setting spray

Steps

Here’s how I achieved this simple summer makeup look step by step:

1. Apply the Perricone MD No Makeup Instant Blur Priming Moisturizer all over your face.
2. Conceal any areas that need evening out, such as over blemishes, under the eyes, or over redness (optional).
3. Use a lightweight skin tint or tinted moisturiser and blend thoroughly into the skin using your fingertips, a beauty blender, or a brush.
4. Spritz setting spray all over your face.
5. Once the setting spray has dried, lightly apply translucent powder in areas that typically get oily, like the cheeks, forehead, nose, and chin.
6. Take a few drops of the Perricone MD No Makeup Bronzer and rub them between your fingertips. Then pat the product across your cheeks and a little on the nose to warm the complexion.
7. Swipe the Perricone MD No Makeup Blush Balm a couple of times just below the cheekbones. Use fingertips to pat the blush into your skin.
8. Place 2 dots of the Perricone MD No Makeup Highlighter on your cheekbones. Pat the product in with your fingertips.
9. Curl eyelashes and apply eyeshadow primer (optional).
10. Apply brow product of choice for a fluffy effect.
11. Take a light brown matte eyeshadow and sweep all over the eyelids.
12. Use a darker brown matte eyeshadow and create a soft wing. Smudge it out to diffuse the edges for a softer effect.
13. Coat upper lashes only with the Pericone MD No Makeup Mascara.
14. Apply Perricone MD No Makeup Lip Oil all over lips. I used the shade ‘Plum’.

The verdict

I’d previously tried and reviewed some products from the Perricone MD No Makeup line. They overall really impressed me, and I loved their natural-looking finish. The primer, blush balm, and lip oil were all new products for this makeup look.

I really like how my makeup turned out! The look only took around 20 minutes to do and was straightforward. It felt lightweight, looked fresh, and lasted all day without becoming oily – even on my t-zone.

You could also play around with different eyeshadow shades, such as pastels, cool tones, or vibrant tones, and lip oil colours from Perricone MD’s range for some variety and fun.

The Perricone MD No Makeup products are brilliant and made this look so effortless to do.

I love the Instant Blur Priming Moisturizer. It fills in pores and gives a soft matte blurry effect, so when you apply any base products on top, your skin looks smooth, even, and soft. When I applied a skin tint on top, it blended seamlessly with no pilling or dry patches. The primer also kept my makeup in place all day.

The Bronzer takes a fair bit of patting into the skin to avoid any patchiness. Even then, it can still go a bit patchy, so it takes a bit of layering to look smooth. However, it’s very natural and lightweight, so it’s great for day-to-day wear.

I love the new Blush Balm and prefer it to Perricone MD’s liquid blush formula. It’s easier to apply and blend. I love the soft raspberry shade and think it would flatter a lot of skin tones. It provides subtle radiance without any shimmer.

The Highlighter is incredibly natural and provides a lit-from-within glow without any glitter particles. It melts into the skin quickly with a few taps. It’s not the most long-wearing highlighter, but it’s ideal for a natural summer makeup look, as it’s completely weightless once applied.

I’m obsessed with the Mascara and reach for it frequently. It happens to be one of my all-time faves. There’s no clumping, flaking, or dryness. It coats lashes quickly and separates them, so there’s no dreaded spider lashes. The mascara adds a lot of length and curl, which lasts all day without dropping. It doesn’t smudge or transfer. It looks natural but makes a definite difference to my lashes.

The new Lip Oil is a major hit. I’ve got all 6 shades, and each one is delightful. The tint it delivers is light but still noticeable. Unlike many lip oils, these ones actually feel hydrating. The formula is quite thick but not sticky at all, so it coats lips in a lovely nourishing gloss. It delivers wearable shine. Each lip oil also smells unreal with a sweet vanilla scent. They’re perfect for shiny, plump, moisturised, and smooth lips.

The lip trend is inspired by cherry cola. It consists of a deep reddish brown lip that’s meant to look like the colour of cherry cola. Lips are supposed to look juicy, glossy, and vibrant. This lip is easy to recreate and works all year round. You only need 2 products!

The lip combo

All you need is a deep red or brown lip liner and glossy lip colour. If you go for a redder lip liner, try going for a more brown-toned lip colour. And if your lip liner is brown, try going for a lip shade that’s got more red in it. That way, you’ve got the perfect blend of red and brown.

Getting a shiny lip colour is essential. This makes your lips look fresh, plump, and juicy. And the cherry cola lips trend is all about vivid glossy colour.

How to do cherry cola lips

This only requires 2 simple steps.

1. Start by lining your lips with the lip liner. You want to draw a fairly thick line and go in with a heavier hand than usual for a rich colour payoff. The lip liner needs to be visible. And having a visible liner colour will help give a gradient effect, which makes the gloss really pop.
2. Then go in with your glossy lip shade. Pack it on for a juicy wet shine.

Today, I’m sharing a seamless no-makeup makeup look that genuinely took about 5 minutes to do. It consists of very few skincare and makeup products!

I’m normally a full glam kinda girl. While I’ve been enjoying a more simple clean girl makeup aesthetic recently, I typically love a shimmer eye, lots of highlighter, and winged liner! So, this no-makeup makeup look is quite different from my usual looks, but I actually really like the outcome.

The star of this makeup look is actually a skincare product: the Seacra Red Algae Recovery & Repair Gel. This multipurpose hydrating gel really helped create a smooth, even, and nourished base for the makeup products to glide over. For these minimal makeup looks, skin prep is absolutely vital. So I will share the skincare products I used to create this no-makeup makeup look in this post as well as the makeup products.

How to recreate this no-makeup makeup look

Below are the products and steps you need to create your own version of this foolproof no-makeup makeup look!

• Hydrating primer
• Tinted moisturiser or sheer skin tint
• Skin-like concealer with buildable coverage
• Beauty blender
• Setting spray (optional)
• Setting powder (optional)
• Natural creamy blush
• Lip tint
• Eyelash curlers (optional)
• Brow comb (optional)

Skin steps

The first thing you need to do is prep your skin correctly. Focus on hydrating, soothing, and moisture-retaining products that you know your skin loves. Trust me, if you want your skin to look its best with minimal makeup, your skin prep is absolutely vital for the best outcomes

I’m a big toner lover, so I started by using a hydrating and calming toner along with a hydrating eye cream. You don’t need to do these steps, but they’ll just add to the overall hydrated base!

Next, take your hydrating serum or gel. Think of ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerin, aloe vera, etc. These will ensure that your makeup doesn’t cling to any dry or dehydrated patches on your skin. Instead, you’ll have a beautiful even canvas! The Seacra Red Algae Recovery & Repair Gel is ideal for this step because it’s soothing, hydrating, and gives your skin a lovely healthy glow.

Finally, top up with your fave nourishing moisturiser and SPF. Try not to go for anything too mattifying, as you want this look to appear fresh and skin-like. Mattifying moisturisers could make the whole look quite flat.

Makeup steps

Prime your skin with a lightweight and hydrating primer to maximise that healthy base. Then, take your fave skin tint or tinted moisturiser and apply it to your skin until you’ve got the desired coverage. You’re aiming for light coverage, but you want it to look like your skin on its best day ever.

For any blemishes, spots, or redness, go in with a flexible concealer to lightly even your base. You still want your natural skin to peek through, so don’t go overboard with this step!

You then will want to go over your entire base lightly with a beauty blender. This will take away any excess product and ensure a perfect blend for that skin-like finish. This step is super important for a no-makeup makeup look so that you’re not product-heavy.

If you’ve got oily skin like me, you’ve got the option here to use a setting spray and setting powder to really keep that base in place. My t-zone can become quite oily throughout the day, so keeping the greasiness at bay is key for me to achieve this effortless makeup vibe. For drier skins, feel free to skip these products!

To add some colour back to your skin, opt for a lightweight, buildable, and natural blush. Cream and liquid formulae work best here, as they just melt into the skin to add a flush of healthy colour. Powder blushes are gorgeous but not as skin-like. With this step, go in lightly and build up as required in the areas where you naturally have flushed cheeks.

Next, use your fave lip tint and wipe away any excess product to add some extra sheen and colour to your lips while still being very subtle.

To complete this look, optional steps include combing your brows into your desired shape (no products used at all), and curling your lashes. Mascara would be too heavy for this look, but added curl can add natural length and volume to your lashes!

As summer draws to a close, I wanted to share my recreation of a fun makeup look with a dewy base and pop of yellow eyeshadow.

The original makeup look comes from the incredibly talented Painted by Spencer. It features a pop of colour, beautiful glowing skin, and a pretty pink lip to tie everything together. I saw this makeup look and fell in love. So I simply had to recreate it!

Here’s Painted by Spencer’s YouTube video I followed to achieve this beautiful summery makeup look:

Like, how gorgeous is this look? From the luminous skin, glossy lips, and expertly placed pop of yellow eyeshadow, I was immediately obsessed.

Painted by Spencer makes it very easy for you to follow his tutorials too. He explains his processes and techniques really well – including when things don’t go so well and I love this transparency – and you can easily see the products he uses to achieve the desired look.

My makeup recreation

For the makeup, I literally followed the tutorial precisely. Sure, many of the products I used were different, as I used products in my collection, but I followed the steps as perfectly as I could.

However, I did my skin prep a little differently. I didn’t do the whole cleansing technique that Spencer did. Honestly, that’s why my skin isn’t quite as glowy as Spencer’s version. That, and the fact that studio lighting really emphasises glow. If I recreated this makeup look again, I’d definitely try Spencer’s cleansing step!

I ultimately did my standard hydrating and glowy skin prep, and you can see which products I used to achieve this later on in the article.

I absolutely love how the makeup turned out. I think the pink and yellow complement each other so well, and I love the understated radiant and natural base.

One of the things I really enjoyed doing in this makeup look was only applying mascara to the outer corners of my eyelashes for that accentuated cat-eye vibe.

If I did this makeup again, I think I’d apply even more of the shimmery yellow shadow to the inner corner for an extra pop.

Honestly, this makeup tutorial was so easy to follow. It took me about 30 minutes to do this look due to there not being loads of intricate steps and an overload of makeup products. It’s playful with colours without being OTT.

The clean girl makeup look is all about minimal makeup, subtle radiance, slicked-back hair, simple jewellery, and hydrated skin. Anyone can do it too! Although many of the TikTok creators have perfect skin, I’ve seen plenty of different skin types and ages do the trend, and it looks great on everyone. Nobody should feel excluded from the trend, even though TikTok might have you feeling otherwise.

This vibe is for when you want a simple look that doesn’t require a tonne of products. You can honestly do this look in about 15-20 minutes.

If you’re looking for an effortless yet still-put-together makeup look, keep reading this blog post so you can recreate the clean girl aesthetic.

You’re going to need the following products to create this look:

The small hoops or studs and hairspray are optional, but they totally complete the look.

How to do the clean girl makeup look

Make sure you’ve prepped your skin with hydrating products. Think hyaluronic acid, squalane and moisturisers. This will ensure a smooth and plump base.

Next, use a primer to help your makeup stay put and add to the healthy skin vibe.

Then, apply a dewy foundation. Lighter coverage works best for this look, but feel free to amp up the coverage if you want to. Try adding a drop of liquid highlighter to your foundation for additional glow.

Conceal under your eyes if necessary, or spot conceal areas that require a little more coverage. Don’t overdo this. The goal is barely-there makeup.

Lightly contour the areas of your face that you want to look a bit more sculpted. Again, nothing too heavy, but just some light shading. Be sure to apply contour in the crease of your eyelids for some subtle definition too.

Next, apply a cream or liquid blush. Ones that are radiant will really compliment this look. The clean girl makeup look is quite blush-heavy for that healthy flush of colour, so feel free to layer your blush.

Use a brow gel to fluff up your brows. You’re aiming for full but natural-looking brows.

Then, use some brown eyeshadow to create a soft wing. This will help to lift your eyes. Then, coat your lashes in mascara. You have the option here to add a dot of highlighter in your inner corners to really make your eyes pop.

Apply lip gloss to complete your makeup. You can lightly apply a lip liner if you want as well. Then, lock everything in place with a glowy setting spray.

Finally, wear some small hoops or studs and slick back your hair with hairspray to complete your clean girl aesthetic.

I’m really into glowy skin makeup looks at the moment, so I wanted to share this simple, everyday dewy makeup look with you all.

A couple of years ago, I’d never have even considered opting for a lightweight foundation. It was full coverage or nothing. However, as my skin is probably the best it’s ever been at the moment, I’ve been leaning towards sheerer coverage foundations. They’re enough to even out my skin tone, but don’t look heavy, which I find more flattering on my skin.

I’m also loving radiant makeup looks currently. They make you look healthy, radiant and youthful. This makeup look was so easy to put together and is super wearable. For a day in the office (post-COVID, of course) or when you want to make a bit of an effort without going OTT, this effortless dewy makeup look is ideal.

Creating the dewy makeup look

The key to creating this dewy makeup look is a lightweight but buildable glowy foundation and a subtle ‘lit from within’ highlighter. Anything too shimmery will push your makeup look into something more dramatic, rather than healthy and understated.

I recently got my hands on the Pat McGrath Labs Sublime Perfection Foundation in Light 5 and I’m obsessed with it. This buildable foundation gives sheer coverage, but can easily be built up to medium coverage, without feeling heavy or looking cakey on the skin. It’s got a luminous satin finish that makes your skin look glowy, without looking greasy.

Honestly, this foundation is everything.

As well as using a satin, lightweight foundation, I also used a gorgeous highlighter. The Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter is a fantastic multi-tasker. You can mix it with your foundation for an all-over glow or apply it to the high points of your face for some added luminosity.

This highlighter isn’t shimmery but gives a natural glow. It’s one of my favourite highlighters because it makes my skin look hella radiant. If you don’t like blinding highlighters or want to go for a more wearable look, I can’t recommend the Hollywood Flawless Filter enough.

To complement the highlighter and satin foundation, I kept the rest of my base light. A touch of bronzer and peach-toned blusher added warmth to my face, but still looks natural. For dewy makeup looks, only powder the parts of your face that get oily – such as the nose, forehead and chin – otherwise you’ll mattify the glow.

My thoughts

I’m totally in love with this dewy makeup look. I think it’s so flattering on the skin and paired with a natural eyeshadow look, you’re onto a winner.

Although I love full glam looks, sometimes just stripping it down and opting for something more subtle is fulfilling. That way, you’re enhancing your natural beauty, rather than going for a full beat.

Side note: the By Terry Terribly Paris Vip Expert Palette Paris By Light is absolutely divine. The eyeshadows are buildable, blendable, buttery and pigmented. It’s one of my favourite neutral eyeshadow palettes ever, with a gorgeous mix of cool and warm tones.

I came across the foxy eyes makeup trend completely by accident. I was searching for new makeup tutorials on YouTube to try out during the lockdown and came across the foxy eyes makeup trend.

Inspired by Bella Hadid’s makeup, foxy eyes aim to give your eyes a natural lift by smoking out your eyeshadow into a high wing. This accentuates your eye shape to make your eyes look long, raised, slanted and sexy, without the need for plastic surgery.

I love this trend because who doesn’t want long, lifted eyes? I think this makeup is so flattering because it gives you almond-shaped eyes without being too dramatic. So, I decided to try the foxy eyes makeup trend out for myself. Here’s how I got on…

Creating the foxy eyes makeup look

To create this makeup look, I followed SMLx0’s tutorial on YouTube:

I think her look is stunning. I wish I had eyes and eyebrows like her!

For the foxy eyes look, your brows are supposed to remain pretty straight and should angle back towards your temples. I found this difficult to achieve because my brows are naturally very arched, but I did my best.

To create foxy eyes, you use natural brown tones and focus on building up the colour on the outer corners of your eyes to create a wing and add length to your eyes. The makeup tutorial I followed used black eyeshadow for eyeliner on the lids, which was then smoked out with a brown shadow to blend it out. This creates a soft wing which is subtle and pretty.

Additionally, creating a point in the inner corner of your eyes helps create that accentuated almond shape. For this, I used a liquid liner for added precision.

It’s also important to wear false lashes where the lashes become longer in the outer corners to create that lengthened look. The Tatti Lashes in TL21 are my favourite lashes ever because they create a gorgeous fanned effect, which worked perfectly with this foxy eyes look.

My thoughts

My eye makeup definitely didn’t turn out like the tutorial. The eyeshadow looked smokier and my eyes didn’t look quite as lifted or winged as I wanted.

On reflection, I would’ve made the wing part of my eyeshadow higher to give my eyes more of a lift. I probably wouldn’t have used as much black eyeshadow for the wing either because this made the look smokier than desired.

However, I still love how this look turned out. I’m a big fan of brown eyeshadow because it just works for every occasion.

Although my eyes don’t look anything like Bella Hadid’s, I still think this trend helped lift and accentuate my eyes. I tried this look during quarantine but I think it would work for an everyday look when paired with a sheer lipstick or lipgloss or it could be dialled up in the evening with a bright lipstick.

The foxy eyes makeup is a trend I’d wear again. It’s flattering, wearable and sultry, so it’s a massive yes from me.

I love the classic Parisian makeup look: minimal eye makeup with a chic red lip. It goes without saying that not all Parisians wear this sort of makeup but I see that classy red lip as a timeless French classic.

I’d seen several French makeup look tutorials on YouTube and loved their effortlessness, so decided to give it a go myself. This Parisian makeup isn’t a look I’d normally do but I feel like it’s good to try something new and step out of your comfort zone.

As I don’t wear makeup every day, I enjoy playing around with makeup on weekends or when I have some time off. I wear makeup because I enjoy it and not to ‘look good’, which can be a slippery slope. This more minimal look is another way for me to get creative with makeup and embrace a new look.

So, I hope you enjoy this Parisian makeup look!

The tutorial

For this look, I followed Christen Dominique’s makeup tutorial:

I’m not ashamed to say that I’ve watched this makeup tutorial several times and adore Christen’s French makeup look. I think she looks healthy, radiant and fresh, which inspired me to recreate her tutorial.

This Parisian makeup look is all about natural beauty and enhancing what you already have. This means BB creams, tinted moisturisers, very subtle highlighter, no fake lashes, no winged liner, no contouring…

Not going to lie, not using one of my full-coverage foundations felt pretty strange and I was apprehensive about it. As much as I like my skin, I don’t feel it’s good enough to use no foundation if I’m doing a makeup look.

But, here’s how I got on…

Creating the look

The base

After doing my usual skincare routine, I applied the Bali Body BB Cream all over my face. I love this BB cream as it gives your skin a beautiful radiance and you look glowy from within.

Although Christen didn’t use a concealer in her makeup tutorial, I used the Colourpop No Filter Matte Concealer in Light 10 to cover any blemishes I had and on my undereye area. I just wanted to feel a bit more put together, you know?

Next, I swept the Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer in Light under my cheekbones and up towards my hairline. Then, I dabbed my finger in the Wet n Wild MegaGlow Highlighting Powder in Precious Petals and lightly pressed it onto my cheekbone. This gave a more subtle, dewy highlight as opposed to a dramatic shimmer.

That’s it for the skin. It was the first time I’ve ever worn no foundation when creating a makeup look, so seeing my imperfections was a bit daunting.

Eyes and lips

After doing a very simple base, which took me under 5 minutes, I moved onto my eyes and lips.

I started off with my eyebrows and used the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Gel in Chocolate lightly on my brows. This French makeup look is about filling in your natural brows and not carving out new brows. Recently, I’ve been experimenting with making my brows look more natural when using brow products. However, for this Parisian makeup, I toned it down even more.

I didn’t use an eye primer and went straight into using the Morphe 25D Oh Boy Artistry Palette. I swept the two lightest beige eyeshadow colours from the palette all over my lids and left it that.

If anything, I feel my eyeshadow was a touch too warm for this Parisian makeup look as French people often don’t wear eyeshadow. However, I still liked the look.

To complete my eye makeup, I simply applied the L’Oreal Paris Telescopic Mascara in Carbon Black all over my lashes. I ensured I curled my eyelashes before applying the mascara as I’m not blessed in the eyelash department, so I need all the length I can get!

For my staple red lip, I used the M.A.C. Cosmetics Matte Lipstick in Chili. This has to be one of my fave red lipsticks ever as it’s incredibly wearable due to its brown undertones. For a daytime red lipstick, I’d definitely recommend this one!

To finish my Parisian makeup look, I spritzed the Pixi Glow Mist all over my face to add more radiance and dewiness.

My thoughts

This is definitely not one of my fave makeup looks and I felt a bit weird about the whole bare skin thing. I’m not ashamed of my skin but when I wear makeup, I always go for more coverage, so I felt a bit incomplete.

Also, when I look through the pics of my French makeup look, I just keep thinking why are my eyelashes so pathetic? There’s a reason I often apply more mascara, do winged liner or wear false lashes and that’s because my eyelashes aren’t very long.

Having said that, I actually quite liked this look. I think that’s mainly due to the red lip as I love wearing red lipstick but the whole natural skin look grew on me as the day went on.

Overall, I’d say this look was a success. Just about.

A simple Halloween makeup look

With Halloween just around the corner, I wanted to share this cute and simple deer makeup look with you all.

I love dressing up for Halloween and seeing the heaps of creative looks and costumes on the internet. In recent years, I feel like Halloween has moved away from just scary looks and is now a time for makeup artists and makeup enthusiasts to show off their incredible skills.

Whilst I’m no makeup artist, I love playing around with makeup, so this year, I decided to try out a deer makeup look.

I followed TheMakeupChair’s Easy Deer Makeup Tutorial to achieve this look:

And here’s how I got on…

Base

To begin, I applied e.l.f. Cosmetics’ Poreless Putty Primer and the Giorgio Armani Power Fabric foundation in the shade 4.5 all over my face. I love the Power Fabric foundation as it gives such a beautiful and flawless coverage.

Highlight and contour

In the makeup tutorial, TheMakeupChair used a lot of highlight and contour to mimic a deer’s face.

I applied a light concealer – Colourpop No Filter Matte Concealer in Fair 08 – in an elongated triangle shape from my nose, under my eyes and up to my eyebrows, as well as under my nose and down the sides of my nose.

I set the concealer with the RCMA No-Color Powder and used the white highlighter from the Soph x Revolution Highlighter Palette to highlight these areas.

Then, it was time to contour and bronze.

I mixed The Body Shop’s Honey Bronze Drops of Sun with the Giorgio Armani Power Fabric foundation on the back of my hand and applied it high up on my cheeks, around the sides of my face and on my forehead.

I also applied these bronzing drops straight onto my face in the same areas to add more bronze and depth. Next, to soften and blend, I applied the Soleil Tan de Chanel bronzer over the bronzed areas.

I then took a clean beauty blender sponge across the highlighted and contoured areas to smooth everything out.

Eyebrows

After finishing the highlighting and contouring, I did my eyebrows. I didn’t do anything different with my brows for this deer makeup look, so I just used the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Gel as per usual.

Eyes

For the eyes, I applied the shade Bare Necessity from the Beauty Bay Bright Matte 42 Colour Palette across my lids.

Then, I used the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner Liquid Eyeliner in Trooper to create a wing. I also applied this eyeliner under my eyes and made sure I pulled the liner further into my inner corners to add to the deer-like look.

Where I’d applied the liquid liner, I went over it with the brown eyeshadow Preppy Pecan from the Beauty Bay Bright Palette. I used the Maybelline Lasting Drama Light Eyeliner Pencil in ‘White Luster’ on my waterline to brighten my eyes too.

Before applying my fake lashes, I used the L’Oreal Paris Telescopic Mascara in Carbon Black on my eyelashes. Then, I applied the Morphe Sunset Blvd eyelashes to add drama and accentuate my eyes. This was my first time trying out these false lashes and I love them – they add great length and were easy to apply.

Nose and lips

Next, it was onto the nose and lips; the part of the makeup look that actually starts to turn me into a deer.

For the nose, I mixed three different lip liners together to create the colour: the Lottie London Slay All Day Long Wear Lip Liner in Werk It, the Milani Color Statement Lipliner in Spice, and the M.A.C. Cosmetics Lip Pencil in Whirl.

I initially coloured my nose in from nostril to nostril and down the centre of my nose with the lip liner blend. Then I created an elongated ‘m’ shape above this area and filled that in to create the deer nose.

Following the same pattern as above, I used the Charlotte Tilbury Rock ‘n’ Kohl liner in Bedroom Black but just in a smaller area. This added depth and dimension to the nose. After, I applied the same white highlighter from the Soph x Revolution palette on my deer nose to make it look “wet”.

As well as the deer nose, I contoured my nose using the Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer in Light to create a deer snout.

I used the Colourpop concealer and RCMA translucent powder along with the e.l.f. Cosmetics Beautifully Bare Satin Lipstick in Touch of Nude on my bottom lip. This created a soft nude that blended in with the rest of my face.

For my top lip, I used the same blend of three brown lip liners to match my nose.

Finishing touches

To make myself look like a deer, I added some white spots to the bronzed areas of my face.

Then, I used the Collection Fast Stroke Eyeliner in White to create the dots, making them bigger towards my hairline and on my forehead. I didn’t create these dots particularly neatly or symmetrically because deer’s coats aren’t “perfect”.

I then went over the spots in the white eyeshadow White Lies from the Beauty Bay Bright Palette to blend them out and make them look less painted on. This made the makeup look more deer-like.

Conclusion

And that’s my finished deer makeup look for Halloween 2019.

It was pretty easy to create this look. Sure, it took me a couple of hours, but it wasn’t really intricate or difficult, yet created a wonderful effect. I loved doing this deer makeup look and it was a new look for me to try out again.

In today’s post, I decided to do something I’ve never done before on the blog by recreating a celebrity makeup look. To be more specific, a Kylie Jenner makeup look.

Kylie is known for her range of amazing makeup looks and playing around with different colours, styles and intensities. I think one of her most popular and iconic looks was the one where she had a pop of yellow eyeshadow in her inner corners.

This is the original look:

Everyone knows it because of how effective the pop of yellow looks with the rest of her makeup. Plus, I think it was quite unusual before to see a pop of colour in the inner corners and not on the lower lashline. But since this makeup look, I’ve seen a lot more people pop a bright colour in their inner corners – myself included!

I’m loving yellow at the moment, so this look was really calling me.

Here’s how I got on:

Creating the eye makeup

Kylie’s original makeup look incorporates cooler tones, but I decided to go warmer for two reasons:

1. All the yellow eyeshadows/eyeliners I own are a warm yellow tone
2. I wanted to use warmer browns for the rest of my eye makeup

Firstly, I used a warm brown shade all over my lid and blended that out for my base colour. I used the shade ‘Wyatt’ from the Morphe 25D Oh Boy Artistry Palette, which is a fairly light brown shade. I also very lightly blended this shade out underneath my eyes.

Then, I took a deep grey shade and smoked that out into my crease and outer corners. For this part, I used the shade ‘Shisha Smoke’ from the Fenty Beauty Moroccan Spice Eyeshadow Palette.

Now for the fun bit – the pop of yellow! For this, I used Colourpop’s BFF Liquid Liner in the shade ‘Make Luv’ and drew it on my inner corners. I couldn’t be more impressed with this eyeliner. It’s so pigmented and it lasted ALL day long. It’s such a vibrant yellow, too. Love love love.

I topped this colour up with the yellow eyeshadow shade ‘Mischief’ from Colourpop’s Yes Please Shadow Palette. The eyeliner just looked like a line of yellow, so using a yellow eyeshadow just helped blend and soften the colour out into the rest of my eye makeup.

To add to the look, I always line my lower lashline with a white eyeliner pencil to make my eyes look bigger. For this, I love Maybelline’s Lasting Drama Light Eyeliner Pencil in ‘White Luster’.

Then for the winged liner, I used the classic Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in ‘Trooper’. I find this liquid eyeliner really easy to use to create a precise wing.

For mascara, I applied Charlotte Tilbury’s Full Fat Lashes in ‘Glossy Black’ in preparation for false eyelashes.

The final part of my eye makeup look was to use false lashes; I used the Red Cherry Lashes in Style #43 (Stevi). This was my first time trying these false lashes out and I think they’re my fave ever! They gave me beautifully long lashes that didn’t look obviously fake or too heavy.

Did I like it?

Yes, a lot!

I hadn’t really done a pop of colour in my inner corners before and I loved how the yellow eyeshadow and eyeliner worked together to create a soft yet striking look.

This isn’t a look I’d normally do but I liked it so much that I want to try doing a pop of colour in my inner corners with loads of different colours now. I think a vibrant pink or electric blue would look fab too.

Now, I can’t wait to play around with different colours in my makeup collection!
