In this blog post, I share my answers to a fairly popular YouTube tag called The best of skincare tag for insights into my skincare passion and experiences.
It’s been a while since I’ve participated in a tag. I love doing these tags, but they’re not as popular anymore. It’s sad because I love reading beauty tags. They’re super fun. The best of skincare tag is quite an old tag, but I wanted to try it, so here we are lol.
This interesting tag asks the content creator a host of skincare questions, such as skin type, best budget buy, fave ingredient, and much more. So, if you’d like to see my answers to this tag, keep reading.
Of course, anyone is welcome to jump on this tag too! If you participate in this tag, please let me know, as I’d love to read your answers too!
1. Skin type?
I have oily skin. Although it’s not super oily, I’m prone to blackheads, and if I wear makeup, it will start to break down during the day. It’s much less oily than it used to be, though!
2. Skincare product storage?
I store my skincare products on a #skincareshelfie. None of those gimmicky skincare fridges! I’d love to get one of those rotating skincare stands, though, as they look so pretty.
3. Fave ingredient?
It’s got to be vitamin C. I love how radiant it makes my skin look. I’m a vitamin C addict! Hyaluronic acid is a very close second followed by niacinamide.
4. Most indulgent product?
It’s got to be the OSKIA Bedtime Beauty Boost. Even though I didn’t pay this much for it, this night cream retails for £90! It’s pretty crazy. But the night cream is absolutely unreal. It’s the most luxurious and sumptuous product I’ve ever put on my face. It makes my skin look and feel incredible, and a tiny amount of product went a long way too.
5. Best beauty buy?
This is such a hard one. I dithered on this question for ages, as there are so many products I’d love to mention. But, the product I’d have to land on is the Sunday Riley C.E.O. Glow Vitamin C + Turmeric Face Oil. This vitamin C facial oil is truly special. It moisturises and hydrates the skin, gives it the most incredible glow, and never feels sticky or heavy. I’m obsessed with it. This is my all-time fave skincare product.
6. Any tools?
I don’t typically use skincare devices that frequently, although I do like using LED light therapy devices from time to time, like the Project E Beauty Photon Skin Rejuvenation Face & Neck Mask. But, the one tool I adore and use fairly frequently, especially during the heatwave we’ve been having in the UK, is the Fraîcheur Ice Globes. These cool, soothe, and refresh the skin for added glow and smoothness.
7. Best mask?
I’m not a huge face mask wearer, but the Isntree Real Mugwort Clay Mask is fab for oilier skins. If I’ve had a few breakouts or my skin is oilier than usual, I always reach for this.
8. Best multi-use product?
The Dermatica Azelaic Acid 20% Cream is a fantastic and affordable product that treats a myriad of skin concerns, such as rosacea, uneven skin texture, and blemishes. Azelaic acid is criminally underrated as an ingredient, but it’s very gentle and versatile, so the Dermatica Azelaic Acid 20% Cream is a brilliant option. You can read my full review of this cream here.
9. Fave brand?
This is a really difficult one! I don’t typically stick to one skincare brand, as I love trying lots of products, so this is a tough one. When I think about it, some of my fave skincare brands that spring to mind are Sunday Riley, OSKIA, Isntree, and Cosrx.
10. Best spot treatment?
The AXIS-Y Spot The Difference Blemish Treatment is fantastic. It’s non-drying, gentle, and interestingly hydrating, but it still visibly reduces blemishes overnight. It’s a winner! See my full review here.
11. Fave skincare routine step?
It’s got to be cleansing. I love the feeling of fresh, clean, and hydrated skin! I especially find the process of removing makeup with a cleansing balm so therapeutic. The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter is an unreal and inexpensive balm that literally melts makeup away so gently.
12. Skincare wishlist?
I’ve managed to narrow this list down to just 3 skincare products that are on my wishlist. However, there are plenty more that I’m dying to try. But I’d love to try the iconic and incredibly pricey SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic, the TikTok-sensation Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm, and the radiance-boosting Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops.
Do you enjoy reading beauty tags, or do you prefer beauty reviews or lifestyle content? I’m keen to hear from you in the comments!
Oooh I love a good cleanse too at the end of a long day! I have pretty dry skin, so clay masks tend to be a bit too stripping for me, I prefer sheet masks.
Thanks for sharing your favorites. I like the sound of the night cream.
xoxo
