Makeup products flatlay

After self-nominating to participate in the ‘bad & boring beauty tag’ – which The Newbury Girl introduced me to – I’ve decided to join in with a random beauty blogger tag I discovered online.

I found participating in the previous beauty tag really fun, so I wanted to share another blogger tag on A Woman’s Confidence. I searched for beauty blogger tags online, came across this one and decided to give it a go.

Blogger tags are fun, unique and allow your audience to get to know you a little better. So, here are my answers to ‘the beauty blogger tag’. If you want to join in, go ahead!

1. Name a beauty regimen that you rarely do?

Nothing really springs to mind for this one. I don’t do much with my hair, does that count?

2. Is washing your makeup brushes something that you regularly do?

Fairly regularly. Every few weeks I’d say. However, I don’t wear makeup much at all – probably once a week max – so my brushes are never really dirty. I probably should wash them more often, though.

3. How long do you last with chipped nails?

I always get acrylic nails with gel powder so, thankfully, my nails don’t really chip. If I wore normal nail polish, I don’t think I’d last long.

4. How long do you put off buying/replacing a beauty product if you need it?

I don’t lol. If I need a new beauty product, you best believe I’m going to get it. If I have a backup, then I’ll obviously use that first before buying a new product. However, if it’s a holy grail item, I won’t hesitate to repurchase it.

5. What’s your worst beauty habit?

I guess I should wash my makeup brushes after every use, in an ideal world.

6. Name something non-beauty related that you put off doing all the time

Mundane phone calls that aren’t time-sensitive. For instance, I need to phone up my car insurance to ask them to amend the number of miles I do per year because I work from home pretty much all the time now. It will probably save me quite a bit of money but I keep putting it off. I should probably do that now…

7. Can you commit to no-makeup buys?

Yes, although I’m not really motivated to because I’m not too bad with makeup purchases. I try to make a point of not buying makeup unnecessarily, though (my boyfriend definitely disagrees with me on this one).

8. How organised is your makeup?

It isn’t lol. When I get my own place, I want to get drawer dividers to sort my collection out but until then, it will stay disorganised. My bedroom is small and I don’t have the space to ensure my collection is tidy – I have a makeup bag and a few boxes and that’s it.

9. What is your biggest beauty pet peeve?

People that use makeup wipes because they “don’t have time to take their makeup off properly”. Makeup wipes are so bad for your face and the planet, and if you use a cleansing balm/oil and remove your makeup with a face cloth, it literally doesn’t take any longer? There’s just no logic behind the statement.

10. What skincare product can’t you live without?

I’d really notice it if I stopped using moisturiser because my skin would feel drier. Although, I’m a sucker for a good cleanser. The skincare product that I shouldn’t live without is SPF, though.

11. If you were stuck on a desert island and you had to pick between lip balm, mascara and foundation, what would you take?

Lip balm. Surely that’s a no-brainer?

Imagine being in a hot, dry desert and wearing foundation. It would just melt off? I’m guessing if you were stuck on an island, there probably wouldn’t be anyone around either, so why would you even care to put on mascara? On top of that, imagine having really chapped lips from being in a hot climate and opting for foundation instead.

Sorry, rant over. This question just mildly infuriated me because of how stupid it is.

12. What’s your favourite DIY beauty treatment?

Probably my DIY lip scrub because it’s pretty decent. On the whole, I find homemade beauty treatments gimmicky so I never really make my own products.
