Following on from last week’s post, I wanted to share my favourite makeup products this year.

2018 has been a great year for makeup, I’ve tried so many different makeup products and discovered some amazing brands.

I’ve also bought far too much makeup this year (is there such a thing as too much?), so I’ve tested out a lot of new products.

Without trying to pick all highlighters and eyeshadow palettes, here are my top 5 makeup products this year:

1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Amrezy Highlighter

I honestly love highlighters. I think I have about 8 in my collection now and frequently have to try and refrain from buying more, but the Amrezy Highlighter by ABH is my absolute favourite.

First of all, I love the champagne gold colour. It’s so flattering and I’m certain would look good on all skin colours. It’s just flawless.

It’s also BLINDING. Like wow. It illuminates the skin and adds loads of shimmer. And if you don’t want to put too much on, that’s fine too as it’s very buildable, so you can go for a softer look.

The Amrezy Highlighter can do no wrong. For all makeup lovers, you need this. You just do.

2. Tarte Shape Tape Concealer

Obviously this was going to make my top 5 products and rightly so.

The Tarte Shape Tape Concealer is everything. I can’t see how any other concealer will ever be better than this one.

It’s so creamy and easy to apply while concealing literally anything. It also doubles up amazingly as an eyeshadow primer and allows eyeshadow to pop on your eyes.

While I’m happy to try other concealers out, I will never not buy this one because I feel like it’s a necessity.

3. Huda Beauty New Nude Eyeshadow Palette

I’m so obsessed with the New Nude Palette and I thought nothing could ever top Huda Beauty’s Desert Dusk Palette.

It’s just a colour scheme I absolutely adore. I’ve been feeling pink and purple eyeshadows for a while now, so when this palette got released, it was a must, rather than a want.

The colours are so soft, easy to work with, buildable and sultry. I feel really glamorous when I use this palette. The shimmers are also really unique and give off the most amazing reflections ever.

Plus, it has an innovative concealer in the palette, which works well, and 2 pressed glitters, which I’m here for because SPARKLES.

It feels like Huda looked inside my head and created a palette just for me. I can’t get enough of it!

4. Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation

There was a reason there was so much hype around the Fenty Foundation and it’s because it’s incredible.

It’s amazing for so many reasons. Most notably, though, Fenty Beauty created the first foundation range that was inclusive for people of ALL skin colours. From very light to very dark and everything in between, Rihanna made sure that everyone could find a colour to match their skin.

I think this is inspiring and has allowed so many people around the world to finally find a foundation that matches their skin, without either mixing different foundation shades together or not wearing foundation at all.

To be honest, Rihanna does no wrong and her determination to create an inclusive makeup brand is just another example of that.

Not only that, but the foundation is actually good. Really good.

I have oily skin and I find that a lot of foundations leave my skin looking oily and greasy. But the Pro Filt’r Foundation has really helped control my oil problem and leaves my skin looking airbrushed and flawless.

It goes on really easily and is a perfect match for my skin (I wear the shade 140). I keep re-buying this foundation because I love the look it gives me and I’m too scared to stray away from it in case another foundation leaves me looking oily again.

5. Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in Christmas Cookie

I have 4 of Jeffree Star’s Liquid Lipsticks and, whilst I love them all, the shade Christmas Cookie is my fave colour.

A soft pinky nude, this colour complements any look. I think it’s a really flattering shade and I’d describe it as my ‘go-to’ lipstick.

As with all of Jeffree’s Liquid Lipsticks, Christmas Cookie lasts for ages. You won’t need to keep reapplying this throughout the day/night and it doesn’t keep transferring to glasses either.

I also love the finish because it dries to a matte, without looking dry or crumbly.

Jeffree Star is famous for his Velour Liquid Lipsticks and they are 100% worth the hype, with the most incredible and creative shade range ever. If you don’t own one, then you definitely need to invest!

And they’re my top 5 makeup picks for 2018. I really struggled to choose my top 5 and I could’ve included so many other products, but these were the ones that really stood out to me overall.
